User talk:Smsmasters
A tag has been placed on Smsmasters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - Fordan (talk) 17:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Smsmasters. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. ~a (user • talk • contribs) 17:59, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
I see that you're trying to improve the article. I'm not sure if you're watching the Talk:Smsmasters page, but wanted to make sure you were aware of another potential issue that could make the page unsuitable for Wikipedia. There's a question of whether it meets the Notability requirements of Wikipedia. You may want to look at showing notability as well as you improve the article. - Fordan (talk) 19:36, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
This is what you saw when you started to create the article. "Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Promotional articles about yourself, your friends, your company or products, or articles created as part of a marketing or promotional campaign, will be deleted in accordance with our deletion policies. For more information, see Wikipedia:Spam." You seem to bare the name as your user name, seems to be a Conflict of interest. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 19:53, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Signing comments
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! - Fordan (talk) 21:42, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Links
[edit]Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. OhNoitsJamie Talk 23:34, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to O2 plc, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. To whom it may concern,
I am only adding external links to mobile phone related articles which I feel would be a good resource to readers of this site. Smsmasters 23:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well I suggest you cease doing this and have a very careful look at our guideline about spamming. Adding large numbers of links to your website on articles is considered spamming and will result in a block. Wikipedia is not a directory of links. I also suggest you have a read about conflicts of interest as you seem to be exhibiting one. If you continue your current spamming actions, you will be blocked. Will (aka Wimt) 23:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
