Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Smnelson4, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Homework 2:

[edit]

Hi Sydney, I am here to respond to our homework assignment. I also thought it was very interesting to learn about how to cite things correctly. I didn't know that it is best to cite at least once in each paragraph that you write. Overall, I think everything we learn here is very interesting and useful! Hope you had a good weekend, and see you in class! --Maryellie96 (talk) 01:03, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Where to place drafts

[edit]

Hi. I've moved several drafts you've created: Two of them that you created in published article space under then name Smnelson4/sandbox6 (the second time after I'd moved the first edition to your user space and had the original title deleted) and one of them in the Draft namespace as Draft:Smnelson4/sandbox5.

When you want to create a draft, or just create a sandbox for experimentation purposes, in your user space, you need to be sure you use the prefix "User:" as in User:Smnelson4/sandbox6 (where I put your first draft) and User:Smnelson4/sandbox6b (where I put the second). If you're going to put articles in the draft space, as you did with Draft:Smnelson4/sandbox5, then it should have a title that identifies the article's topic, not your user name followed by "sandboxX". For that reason, I moved it to User:Smnelson4/sandbox5. I've sent requests to delete the original titles.

Let me know if you have any questions! Largoplazo (talk) 22:10, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed that the draft that was in Draft space had actually been created by you in article space, and someone else moved it from there to Draft space. That was inappropriate given the article's nondescript title. Largoplazo (talk) 22:12, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Largoplazo: Thank you for explaining and helping me with this. I appreciate your help as I learn how to use Wikipedia. Have a wonderful day!
