Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Free love, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. We use the word "and" in article text, not the symbol "&". Law Lord (talk) 21:50, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use styles that are unusual or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Anti-pornography movement. There is a Manual of Style that should be followed. Thank you. Law Lord (talk) 22:04, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to use disruptive or hard to read formatting, as you did in Iraq War, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Law Lord (talk) 22:09, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings regarding violation of the Manual of Style

[edit]

Per your recent question on my talk page:

The rule is stated in the manual of style here: Wikipedia:MOS#Ampersand, and it says:

Ampersand

[edit]

The ampersand (&) represents the word and. In running prose, and should be used instead. Retain ampersands in titles of works or organizations. Ampersands may be used with consistency and discretion in tables, infoboxes, and similar contexts where space is limited. Modern editions of old texts routinely replace ampersands with and (along with disused glyphs and ligatures), so an article's quotations may be cautiously modified, especially for consistency in quotations where different editions are used. (For allowable modifications see Quotations, above.)

I hope this answers your question. Cheers. --Law Lord (talk) 14:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
