If you'd like some help with editing or otherwise, you can sign up at the new users log, post a question at the Help Desk, or ask me on my talk page.

Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. It is a good idea to read the most recent entries at the bottom of the Talk page of an existing article before making major changes to it, to see if your proposed change has been discussed before. Before I make a major change to an article, I often make a proposal on the Talk page to see if anyone minds.

Again, welcome! -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:40, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, please don't link words that everyone understands, see MOS:OVERLINK --FMSky (talk) 06:51, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please ensure that the article you are linking to is appropriate for the context and helps the reader understand the concept. I've removed a number of wikilinks that you've put in articles because they lead to targets unrelated to the article. It's better not to have a wikilink at all than to link to the wrong target, especially when you're linking names of people. Please take the time to read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking, especially the sections on what should and shouldn't be linked. Hope that helps. Schazjmd (talk) 14:09, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that you linked "memoir" today, which is not a helpful blue-link. Please, review MOS:OVERLINK, as noted above. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:38, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your edit to Arthur Lee (musician). Please add page numbers to the book citations you added. Also there's no need to remove double spaces between sentences, as the software rolls them in to one when on the article page. I'm curious: have you had experience editing Wikipedia before creating this account? Graham87 (talk) 15:10, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

variation of English and changing sources

[edit]

Articles may use American English spelling or British English spelling, depending on the topic of the article. As long as an article uses a form consistently, you should not change it. You can learn more at WP:ENGVAR.

I reverted your edits to Anne of Green Gables: The Musical because you replaced at least two sources in the article with new sources that didn't actually support the sentence they were appended to. (I stopped checking the rest after finding two that failed verification.) If you replace a source, make sure the replacement actually verifies the content. Schazjmd (talk) 15:42, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I had to revert other of your edits for the same problem. If a sentence says X moved to London in 1966, the source must verify that claim. A source about X that doesn't mention London or 1966 does not verify the sentence. Schazjmd (talk) 16:12, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Inspired by the message above, I've checked your edits more carefully and my initial slight suspicions about you have raised considerably. I can't say much more. Graham87 (talk) 15:35, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
