[edit]A tag has been placed on JWPce, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Onorem 23:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
JWPce
[edit]Hi Sjcarpediem,
A link is not an article, or even a stub. Most people looking at the article can mistake it as somebody trying to promote the software. What would be really helpful is reliable sources reviewing the software in question, to make it pass WP:SOFTWARE. It's probably better, if you don't have time to create the article, to make it in userspace at User:Sjcarepdiem/JWPce then move it into article space when you're done. Help
[edit]Hi,
Regarding the other article, do you want to combine it with the one you are working on? Such a function is called a merge- I can walk you through it if you want.
Regarding translation, you may wish to contact the appropriate embassy or translation WikiProject. If it's French, I can arrange some things- one of my mentorees works in translation.
Respond on my talk page if you need help with the above. Also note that help tags should be listed by a user on his talk page, not on an article (talk) page.
Have a nice day,

Merge
[edit]Okay. Which of the two pages do you want as the new site of the combined article?
The Rhymesmith 20:24, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I've moved the text of the other page to Evrard, and created a redirect. You'll need to integrate the information of the two articles quickly. You'll also need to remove the translation notes, and especially your username. You can cite direct problems from a text at the bottom, but seeing as the article isn't actually about a translated text it's better to avoid treating the article as if there's only one source. You'll also need to deal with the categories and tags. It's also important to deal with double redirects- do you want me to do that?
The Rhymesmith 03:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Do make sure to wean the article off the book. Remove the chapter structure and exclude the beginning comment regarding the book and translation. I've dealt with all the tricky technical things and double redirects.

Merging

[edit] Eberhard AKA Evrard Looks like we have some common research... Care to merge?

Lets talk about your suggestion for merging, what do you have in mind?
Dthem 2000 08:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Japanese history/French sources
[edit]I was surprised and pleased by your message the other day. Thanks for the suggestion that we might work together. I hope something works out. We'll see.
At first, I responded with a rather longish message and then I thought better of it. Something short and crisp is more appropriate here.
So, again -- yes, sure. Thanks. --Tenmei (talk) 20:25, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:32, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
