License tagging for Image:Maitreya school.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maitreya school.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot 23:09, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute

[edit]

Hello. I am going to be mediating the dispute that you are in. I'm looking forward to working with you and Johnfos to reach a compromise. I would like to say, it will not be my job to advocate for either one of you. It is my job to help you to reach a compromise. Cheers!--SJP:Happy Verterans Day! 15:06, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Simmonstony, could I request that you avoid accusations of religious bias? Thanks, Addhoc 11:22, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Point taken. I withdraw that statement

Maitreya Project Revert

[edit]

Gordon, you just reverted my changes to the Maitreya Project page. Now I am really confused. I am accused of bias and therefore, in good faith, remove the content I have posted on this article, and then you, an accuser, revert my deletions so that the supposed biased content is visible again. Can you please explain? I am tempted to undo this revert and remind you of the three-revert rule policy page if you are tempted to persist, however i'd like to discuss it first.

Simmonstony 22:52, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted it because there was no consensus to blank most of the article as you did, and with the conflict of interest issues under discussion, you should not be making major edits to it. Gordonofcartoon 23:11, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Maitreya school.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maitreya school.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

new edits on M.P. page

[edit]

Dear Tony, please note that i have started to edit again on Maitreya Project page. i have been editing anonymously, IP is 121.44.2.55 - i think this should stay consistent since i have dsl which stays up for some weeks mostly, i'm not sure if the ip is static, i.e. the same between restarts of the dsl connection. David Woodward

p.s. do you want to go and kick some NKT butt some time? i would love to do a tag team lurk around the relevant WP articles, or better yet, head over to e-sangha (my handle hippydave i think) and let rip with dialectic style not allowable in WP. Also, please note the things we both want: people to read the article, people to think about the Maitreya Buddha. I demand your dialectic refutation of my proposed absoluteosities, or not.

p.p.s everything i say is complete B.S. Please note "BS-4" rating on User:David Woodward.

p.p.p.s i'm this anon. since "David Woodward" is empty right now. David Woodward. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.2.55 (talk) 03:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Maitreya project.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Maitreya project.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:17, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, just realised it isn't replaceable. I will add a rationale myself. J Milburn (talk) 21:18, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Michael Roach

[edit]

This edit contains the insertion of the claim that Michael Roach 'admitted' that the relationship was romantic, while citing the precise paragraph in the text of the Page Six article where it is made clear that he does exactly the opposite: "maintains the relationship wasn't romantic". That's a pretty appalling state of affairs, I must say.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 05:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reply.... Actually, having reread the article, there is a contradiction... while the paragraph in the page six article states "maintains the relationship wasn't romantic" it also states that "There is a little bit of highschool stuff going on" which is basically saying that it was romantic.. id say its pretty appalling of you to say that my edit was pretty appalling give the above. But of course, wikipedia itself is an experiment that allows anything to be puiblished as long as it is publiched emsewhere by a credible source, even if it is factually incorrect. I personally know of a lot of things give credit on Wiki that have been published by 'credible sources' which are in fact, total fabrications. To me, that's a pretty appalling state of affairs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simmonstony (talkcontribs) 22:00, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Maitreya project.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Maitreya project.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. – Wdchk (talk) 04:24, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Tony,

I was updating myself re the Maitreya project this arvo. I must admit a certain user only predilection for Wikipedia and followed a link there....https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Maitreya_Project - it is all a bit out of date isn't it ? I was thinking of requesting it to be retired or whatever the wiki term is - I've read the history on it - very divisive I note - shall I just leave (not-)well alone.

I read the FPMT updates and a few other links off of there - so I am up to date now anyway.

I am an FPMTer with Australian and English and Kopan centre links.

You don't have to answer this.....but I had been thinking of getting into Wikipedia editing a bit - this seemed a good candidate until I read the history. Phew. Rgds Brian H ps if I don't hear back I'll just leave it..... Kulana (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:29, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
