The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. Speedy deletion nomination of Permanente Medical Groups
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Permanente Medical Groups, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:22, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, SidneyGarfield. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Permanente Medical Groups, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara ✉ 04:40, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
- Hi Athaenara,
- Hope all is well. My name is Michael Green and I am a communications consultant for The Permanente Federation. I would greatly appreciate an explanation as to why my recent entry for Permanente Medical Groups was deleted and this account has been blocked. It appears as though other organizations within our industry have posted similar entries to Wikipedia without any issue. Is there a reason why this entry is unacceptable?
- I'm happy to comply with any guidelines my colleagues and I might be missing. Our communications team put a lot of time and effort into the Permanente Medical Groups entry I tried to post. Please feel free to contact me directly at (redacted) if it's easier to discuss this topic via email.
- Thank you and looking forward to your response.
- Best,
- Michael SidneyGarfield (talk) 00:12, 21 May 2022 (UTC) SidneyGarfield (talk) 00:13, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I have censored your email for your protection; it should not be posted in this public forum. If you want to allow others to email you, they will use the "email this user" link to the left of the screen(in desktop mode, at least). In any event, Wikipedia business(unless sensitive personal information is involved) is almost always handled on Wikipedia itself, for openness and transparency. You appear to have several misunderstandings about Wikipedia. Typically, an organization does not "post an entry" about itself. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory of organizations, and has criteria for inclusion- mere existence is insufficient. Not every topic within a field merits an article. Articles are usually written by independent editors that take note of significant coverage in independent reliable sources about a topic, and write an article showing how that topic meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability- in this case, the definition of a notable organization. In the case of your draft, it was largely sourced to your organization itself. An article should summarize what others say about your organization, not what it says about itself- your organization may speak about itself on its own website and social media. You declared a conflict of interest but if you are an employee or otherwise compensated by Permanente, you must make the stricter paid editing declaration. You must also be the only one with access to this account- others at your organization will need their own accounts(though they should not create them until this block is resolved). As you only indicate a desire to edit about your organization, and don't otherwise demonstrate your understanding of the polices described on this page(and linked to), there are no grounds to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 09:12, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
