A tag has been placed on Spider temple, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Spider temple and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 06:27, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Mohideen sheriff

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mohideen sheriff requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  superβεεcat  10:27, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on E.J.Waring, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Speedy deletion of Edward John Waring

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Edward John Waring requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

A tag has been placed on Theodor Ludvig Frederich Folly requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

It may not be obvious, but articles on PMC are not free from copyright. They're licensed by the publisher and author for display there, and for private use, but not for republication elsewhere. Some open access journals actually are published under a license permitting reproduction here with attribution, equivalent to our licensing,--this includes those published by PLOS , but Medical History is not one of them. No copyrighted material, please

[edit]

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 06:33, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

After reviewing your edit history, I found two more examples of copyright violations which have now been removed. The next copyright violation will likely result in an indefinite block. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 06:37, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In which case, I owe you a fourteen-karat golden apology. I am truly sorry for the misunderstanding and I'll replace the text right away. Thank you for being nice in the face of this. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:04, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Sowa Rigpa, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://indianmedicine.nic.in/index3.asp?sslid=144&subsublinkid=20&lang=1. As a copyright violation, Sowa Rigpa appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Sowa Rigpa has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Sowa Rigpa and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Sowa Rigpa with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Sowa Rigpa.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Johnuniq (talk) 07:58, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that the license at that website is not compatible with ours. We will need permission, unless they are willing to explicitly permit modifications. Currently they require accurate reproduction, which is out of our scope. Too, it seems that content may have been copied from other websites, although it's hard to tell at this point if those other websites also copied from NIC, and some of it was added to the article after its creation by probably another user. The article has been blanked; unless we get permission, I'm afraid it will need to be rewritten if we are to retain it. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:05, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the infringing text from the article, a week has passed.--NortyNort (Holla) 04:04, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, and thanks for bringing it to my attention. I've restored the article, and copied the copyright notice to the article talk page, which may help forestall future actions.--SPhilbrickT 12:26, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Central Council of Indian Medicine logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
