Arbit Choudhury
[edit]Hi Shubham Choudhury, I have noted your response on the WP:CP page; however, as I was the one who tagged the notice, I did not want to follow up to avoid a seeming conflict of interest. However, as other editors have not yet followed this up, I will take it up taking cognizance of your message on my talk page. The proper procedure to be followed is as listed under Wikipedia:Confirmation of permission. Could the Webmaster of Matishk confirm by e-mail to either me or the permissions id that the content of that page is released under GFDL? Please read the link on GFDL carefully as releasing content under GFDL would mean that anyone can publish derivative work.
If you do not wish to release content under GFDL, you can say so and the article would be deleted. You can create it later with your own words or if you want me to do it, I am game.
In case you plan to release it under GFDL, you may also want to release a particular strip under GFDL to enhance the quality of the article.Recently, there has been a controversy on Wikipedia about suitability of webcomics and notability guidelines have been established at WP:WEB; I believe that your creation merits a place under these guidelines - however, please provide online links to the BW and Times articles about the comic strip to be on safe side. --Gurubrahma 18:40, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Shubham Choudhury, it is unfortunate that you do not wish to release the content under GFDL, but I understand your position fully. I would proceed to delete the article in its current form. As I would be on a break in the next week, you can expect the article to be created by the end of first week of February latest. Could you please give the links to BW article and the Times article so that I can establish the notability (I could google for them but since you have them it would save time). I plan to use one of the strips under the fair-use provisions of the Image use policy here. --Gurubrahma 13:32, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
