A tag has been placed on Valikamam educational zone requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

please help improve Kingsley C. Dassanayake, they want to delete it from Wikipedia--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 05:11, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really of the opinion that this example of a Farman is notable enough for it's own article unless you can actually find more about its history. But since it's Christmas and I have a fondness for early aviastion, I'm not gouing to slap a speedy in it myselfTheLongTone (talk) 14:47, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to History of the Republic of India does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! @Kautilya3:, Thank you for your advice and I will follow your advices. Do you know The language Tamil, Please reply.--Shriheeran (talk) 06:48, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You did not leave an edit summary for your huge revert. Can you please explain why you reverted it? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 06:33, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Kautilya3:, When I am reverting that I thought that it was a huge vandal edit. That was my big mistake and Now i am worrying about my false. And I am deeply sorry for this and I hope I should not do like this once again. Thank you for your kind question!--Shriheeran (talk) 06:44, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. Writing edit summaries at least makes you think hard about why you are trying to revert. You should not use the rollback buttons until you are well-experienced with the ways of Wikipedia.
In response to your other question, I don't know Tamil, even though I can understand a few words. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 06:57, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Kautilya3:, That's Ok thank you!--Shriheeran (talk) 07:03, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

About your Teahouse request

[edit]

Hello Shriheeran. I noticed your teahouse request, and wondered if perhaps templates may work for what you need. We use these for instance for infoboxes. These can be either transluded, or substituted (when their expansion to text is put into the article instead of the template skeleton).

But also, note that Wikipedia is not a directory (WP:DIRECTORY), so we cannot for instance, create an article or list everyone, only notable people (WP:NOTABLE)) for whom exists significant coverage in secondary and tiertary reliable sources (WP:RS).

Examples of templates are all those pages starting with Template:, but custom templates may also be created in private user pages. Their source can be viewed using "edit" or "view source". When using {{subst:template|params}} instead of only {{template|params}}, the template is substituted rather than transcluded. Example templates:

So for your example, "Name:-_____ Birthdate:-_______. Then it should make sentences like. _____ is an astronomer. He was born on _______", a possible template may look like: {{subst:short person descr|name=|birthdate=|field=astronomer}}, which could produce a sentence. Of course, if you ultimately also use a robot, robots can also use templates.

@PaleoNeonate:, thank you for your alternative idea and I will ask you any help if wanted--Shriheeran (talk) 05:40, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help me to create such a template Here--Shriheeran (talk) 05:43, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My experience writing them is very limited at this time, I'm a relatively new user and my only attempt so far was with Template:Deletion_mention, adapted from Template:Deletion_sorting. However, there are editors at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical) which should have extensive experience with them. Also of interest may be: Wikipedia:Requested_templates, Template:Help_me/sandbox, Help:ParserFunctions, Help:A_quick_guide_to_templates and Help:Template#Parameters. —░]PaleoNeonate█ ⏎ ?ERROR 17:05, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@PaleoNeonate:, As you said //These can be either transluded, or substituted (when their expansion to text is put into the article instead of the template skeleton).// I need your help in this section--Shriheeran (talk) 07:47, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This can be done by using subst: before the template name. This causes the template to be substituted to text immediately as part of the article text, instead of it being expanded at article loading time (transclusion). For instance, you may want to test using this to see the difference: {{subst:welcome}} and {{welcome}} and look at the resulting article/page source. Substitution produce less load on the servers and may hide the fact that a template was used, but transclusion make it easier to see that a template was used, or to edit the result. Some templates ensure that a comment be inserted as part of the text when substituted, so that others know a template was used and exists for this purpose. —░]PaleoNeonate█ ⏎ ?ERROR 17:05, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@PaleoNeonate:, I already knew about subst: and How to crate such a template for substitution of sentences / words. If I create such a template then I have to create it for every words is it?--Shriheeran (talk) 01:47, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I unfortunately did not understand your last question. I will try to guess it and answer, but the answer may possibly sound irrelevant . If you mean sentence rather than word, you would indeed need a separate template per sentence, unless the template was designed to have a type parameter allowing to support more than one sentence. If we used again the previous sentence: "Foo is Bar. He was born on Baz", but would also like "Foo was Bar, born on Baz and who died on Quux". The second could either use an extra optional death date/year parameter, or could be generated using a second template. Hmm I have now also realized that because of a/an difference, unless "an astronomer" was a parameter rather than simply "astronomer", some code would need to be used to insert "a" or "an" depending on the first letter of the parameter. The same for He/She, it would also need to be a parameter. For such a short sentence, it may not be shorter to type the template than to type the sentence, perhaps... —░]PaleoNeonate█ ⏎ ?ERROR 03:42, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@PaleoNeonate:,Hope your replies better great. Thank you for your reply and I'll ask you more help when needed. Cheers--Shriheeran (talk) 08:56, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
