Hello, I'm Qed237. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Anfield seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 18:26, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Steven Gerrard, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:44, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Anfield. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Qed237 (talk) 12:15, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mario Suárez Mata, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Defender. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Idrissa Gueye
Aston Villa (and BBC) clearly state the fee has not been made public - so where have ESPN got their figure from? Furthermore the figure they state is a "reported" figure i.e. not confirmed. Therefore the information/source should not be present per WP:BLP and WP:V. GiantSnowman 18:04, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Where most sports agencies do. "Sources". Almost 95% of transfer fee's are not made public but agencies have inside information and if you can find multiple sources reporting the same figures then it can be seen as reliable. ESPN is the largest Sports network in the World. Like I said I'm fine with adjusting the comment to "rumoured" or whatever else to show Aston Villa didn't state on their official website. And yes the BBC does the exact same thing. Christian Benteke's release clause was widely reported to be £32.5mm and even the BBC reported it, but Aston Villa has never specified what the exact figure is[1]. Football transfers are often speculative and as long as we have multiple good sources then that should be sufficient.
- For Idrissa Gueye there are extremly reliable sources like ESPN, The Guardian, and often the gold standard Sky Sports.
- @GiantSnowman: Did you get a chance to look at this? I can add more sources and describe that fee is unconfirmed, but reported by many outlets to be...
- Your pinging hasn't worked as you have not signed your talk page posts. No, adding information based on "inside information"/speculation/rumours from a few media sources (especially given it's highly likely that one came up with the figure and others copied) is simply not appropriate. Again, please read WP:BLP and WP:V. GiantSnowman 09:11, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
FIFPro Members
In this article dated 28 October 2014, Malta and Venezuela are confirmed as members. The map that you linked in your reversion is dated 11 October 2013 and does not match the current membership. Ctingyu08 (talk) 16:37, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Ctingyu08: Yours is more updated than mine so let's go with yours. Thanks for changes. I will update a few sources, and include your article.Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 16:46, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Shreerajtheauthor/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ceradon (talk • edits) 18:53, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
- FYI, if you continue to abuse rollback then your rollback rights will be revoked. GiantSnowman 20:55, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Just saw this. To confirm it was not to abuse. It was to restore data, to which I then added references, and proper citations rather than blanking data. See edit history first.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 18:50, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Paul Bradbury 18:58, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi there from Portugal,
I have been here for nine years, and am not very good (at all) with technicalities, but i think my work has been appreciated overall. Do you mind telling me what did i do in Mr. Rayos' article that was so disruptive, because i fail to see it? Also, you can ask anyone here how badly i fight vandalism, to the point of being a nuisance i admit it; ah, example, in Rayos' piece, banned User:Antony1821 (and his anon forms and socks) inserted several times B-clubs as youth (they are not, they are senior clubs, more or less like a reserve team in England) in the infobox, if not for me no one would have noticed/changed it.
Attentively --84.90.219.128 (talk) 17:12, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
Well, can I please get a reply on what you find disruptive in my edits (in Mr. Rayos and overall)? Thanks in advance. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128: Firstly, apologies for the "disruptive editing" tag on your talk page. I should have placed a "in good faith" edits template. You have been doing a good job, and I agree it is our job together to fight vandals. You mentioned you are not very good at all the technicalities, which is fine as I assume English is not your first language. I am good at these small technicalities, especially on the English wikipedia, so if I do make small grammar edits, then please do not take these as an insult. It is to better Wikipedia for all of us. A few things to note. When possible use dating conventions, for example, On 8 August 2015, Messi joined Barcelona, signing a three-year contract for a reported fee of £1 million. The dating conventions are more straightforward and more accurate than just casually saying Messi joined Barcelona in summer 2015 for two years. It's cleaner and more in line with the templates. Also for footballers please see WP:FOOTBALL, I think as long as we use the same templates then we should have similar edits. Thanks for all your editing work so far, and again please don't take as an insult to any edits I make.
--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 20:40, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
I see where you are coming from, I just try to avoid starting the sentences in the same fashion, and it's not me making stuff up, I think I read it somewhere at WP:FOOTY years ago. All in all, let's continue with the teamwork, cheers --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:04, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128: Do you happen to have a link to the discussion or know where it is in archives? As far as I know the dating convention when possible should be used, but obv I won't go through every article that doesn't have it and change them. But if I do see it then I will make an effort to. Yes we will continue to work together. Thanks! Also a quick suggestion is to make a Userpage. It takes only a few seconds, you can record what kinds of articles you are working on, and editors and admins look more favorably on that, than an IP address which is used by many vandals.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 21:11, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
No man, for all I know it could be of 5/6 years ago, I just remember discussing it (ah, and it might not even be a WP:FOOTY thing, I might have discussed with an individual editor and he advised me on that). I used to have an account, AlwaysLearning, but asked it was vanished after a serious run-in with a Benfica troll that wanted to vandalize articles non-stop after his team lost the 2014 UEFA Europa League Final (see more details here https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:188.81.115.107), I had the intention of leaving forever, but guess I cannot, I'm "wiki-hooked" :( --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:27, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

My hat's off to you, I guess it's better to say "in the 2011-12 season" than "in his second season", since two dates with him signing contracts appear in said paragraph. I apologize for reverting, reinstated your version and added more storyline with refs.
All in all, nice teamwork. Sorry for any inconvenience, cheers --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:05, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- Was I unpolite or aggressive in any of our last interactions? I don't think so, but apologize of course if you feel like it. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 20:43, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128:. Nope dude we're all good. Keep up the good work. Just because we disagree on something it's not bad. We can just discuss it and decide what's best going forward. Thanks--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 20:47, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Grammar police
When making changes to grammar, such as you did with this edit, be careful to follow Wikipedia's manuals of style. You trod heavily on MOS:AMP. Also, you might want to differentiate between grammar and punctuation. The latter has more loosely defined rules depending on which manual of style you follow. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:07, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Walter Görlitz:. Thanks for the info. Was not aware of that. Will follow these suggestions going forward, thanks.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 16:31, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Roberto Soldado
According to WP:CHALLENGE it is the responsibility of the editor who adds or changes content to provide a source or reference, it is not up to other editors too look for sources for other people's edits. TeaLover1996 (talk) 18:49, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- @TeaLover1996: There ARE sources. Please look at my edits. It is YOUR responsibility to properly check my edits for sources and there are clearly sources from both Villarreal's official website and ESPN's Spurs post. Do YOUR research before getting into an edit war.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 18:57, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yes there are sources, but it's not up to me too look for them as I have already stated above, they need to be added to the article, it is not the responsibility of one editor to find sources for another editors please keep this in mind for future editing. TeaLover1996 (talk) 19:03, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- @TeaLover1996: We'll continue conversation on your User_talk:TeaLover1996#Roberto_Soldado because you were clearly wrong because my edits were FULLY SOURCED and you need to admit it, instead of saying I did something wrong.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 19:12, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

My two cents regarding my last edits in this article: 1 - intro: I don't intend to "teach the teacher", in this case trying to convey I speak better English than you because I do not, but isn't "He has represented Spain in the 2013 Confederations Cup" wrong? Gives one the impression the competition is still being played, TWO YEARS later; if I was wrong there, please re-revert and sorry for the inconvenience.
However, please don't operate a blanket revert if you choose to do so, I made three good edits: 1 - someone updated box but without the PC update, I did that; 2 - I added more Villarreal storyline, just waiting for the newspaper Marca to add the match report, game has just ended; 3 (related to #2): Villarreal CF is already mentioned/linked in his Valencia sub-section, this I why I keep removing the overlinking.
Attentively, happy week --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:25, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128: I think both statements work so no big deal. Your changes are fine. I always find it's good to link in the name of the club (even if it is an "overlink" per se) in the new subsection and statement that you describe the player has joined the club in question. After that you no longer need to but once in the opening line isn't the biggest deal and doesn't really constitute overlinking. Thanks--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 02:57, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
OK, have done so in the Villarreal sub-section (link it again). Thanks --84.90.219.128 (talk) 03:07, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

FIFA World Club Cup
Please stop adding this as an honour on the LFC page, it's ridiculous for a club of Liverpool's stature to list a runners-up finish as an honour. The club does not include this on their honours list on the main page and thus we should follow suit and do the same. The fact there is a third place is irrelevant, the club didn't win the tournament, it shouldn't be included. We can't make an exception for one trophy. NapHit (talk) 22:13, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- @NapHit: Personally I disagree and think if we list runner up finishes at the World Cup (See Lionel Messi) then the FWCW deserves them. However you are correct that the club do not list it as as honour at their official site so I concede and sure I agree to leave it off. Thanks--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 02:48, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

I had been searching for the right word on the Costa-Gabriel encounter, seeing as we are constrained by a neutral point of view which most writers do not have to abide with. There is the Category:Brawls in team sports: most of them had much more violence and malice than this embarrassing bust-up, but less than most fights on the street or riots which are also called "brawls", so the term is yes inaccurate. Your wording is better than mine! '''tAD''' (talk) 00:08, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
- @The Almightey Drill:. No worries! Yeah IMO I would only consider it a brawl if it's more than 2-3 people, and there was actually fist fighting, out of control behaviour. This was just Costa and Gabriel being idiots. I feel like confrontation is always preferable as it maintains WP:NPOV. I guess you could also use tussle, scrap, clash, fracas, skirmish, but best to keep it simple.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 00:16, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
- Well, it did start with Koscielny, and there was some slight aggression towards Oscar as he broke it up, but that's not going to be remembered. Anyway, congratulations on your work on updating articles on footballers. You do a great job '''tAD''' (talk) 00:19, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
- @The Almightey Drill: True true. At the end of the day I wouldn't be surprised if the FA claimed Mou was out there himself hitting people, the way the English media runs with these stories! Thanks man you too! I'm currently trying to update the extremely outdated Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players template and have tried to have a discussion here last time but haven't gotten much traction.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 00:26, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi there! I welcome the intention of your change to the Özil article. It looks like the Mourinho quote went missing in the process though? Regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 00:18, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Robby.is.on: Hi, I removed it as one quote by Mourinho was sufficient and otherwise the style of play just becomes a "quotes about the player." and that section is becoming a little long with all the quotes. Thanks.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 00:22, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- Alright. Makes sense. Actually, earlier, when I added the Gómez quote I wondered whether it would be good to move quotes which aren't exactly about Özil "style of play" but more about how others rate him into a dedicated section called "reception". Compare Zidane "reception and legacy". Robby.is.on (talk) 00:25, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Robby.is.on: That's a good idea. Makes it much more streamlined. If you can do that then awesome, and if not then i'll come back to it in a few days. I was thinking of doing a similar one for Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes. I'm sure there are others too.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 00:30, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- Neat! :-) I can't promise I'll get to it before the weekend. Robby.is.on (talk) 02:26, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi, when using {{nft}} in articles, please remember to substitute it, as is explained on the template documentation. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 23:22, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Mattythewhite: Hi. Even if you do not use the substitute it still links to the National team, not to country name. For example France works perfectly fine. Can you please explain why it is necessary to use it then?--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 23:28, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- Because, as the link above explains, you are supposed to use this template by typing it as {{subst:nft|France}}. All clearly explained in the template documentation. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:30, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Mattythewhite: Maybe I'm missing something but I read the template documentation and I don't understand Why? What is wrong with just typing {{nft|France}}? It seems to link perfectly and the addition of substitute to me seems unnecessary. It works without it. Can you clear it up for me?--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 23:35, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- Because there's no need to slow down the loading time of the page with a template that is designed to be used by typing {{subst:nft|x}}. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:38, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Mattythewhite: Okay. Still a little confused but read H:SUBST and it cleared it up a bit. I'll take your word for it though and use it going forward. Wish there was a shortcut for it!--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 23:49, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- But {{subst:nft|x}} is in itself a shortcut, as it saves us having to type out "[[x national football team|x]]". Mattythewhite (talk) 23:54, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

Mauro Zárate
Hello. If you read that source, you'll see that both the fee and the contract length are speculation. Personally, I think that if an encyclopedia can't find a better source for details of the contract of employment of a living person than Italian speculation recycled in the website of an English tabloid free-sheet, it should omit the information until it can find something resembling a reliable source. What do you think? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:04, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Struway:Probably should have added this source instead but Sky Sports here has it too, and they're extremely reliable. I think adding the undisclosed nature and believed to be from, with 2 diff sources should be sufficient enough. Should I add the Sky Sports in too?--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 17:14, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Including the speculated fee sourced and attributed to Sky Sports, in the form something like "for an undisclosed fee,[source for completion of deal] believed by Sky Sports to be £1.6 million.[sky source]" would be just about acceptable, though waiting for the actual fee to be disclosed or for a figure to become generally accepted in the media would be better. We'e not supposed to be a gossip or breaking-news site. The Evening Standard website is inappropriate, and including speculation about the contract length is equally inappropriate without a reliable source. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:26, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- P.S. if you want me to get the notification, it's Struway2, not just Struway. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:34, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Struway2: Cool thanks! Official fee confirmations from the club itself are almost impossible to get. However, they are widely reported by most sources like Sky Sports, BBC Sports, Guardian, ESPN and as far as I've seen they are considered the gold standard (next to fee confirmations from the club itself which are impossible to get). If we did not accept these as appropriate sources then there would be no transfer fee information on Wikipedia. Almost 99% of football transfer fees seen on Wiki are from these sources. I'll disregard the Evening Standard source though. Thanks.--Shreerajtheauthor (talk) 17:41, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Neymar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sponsorship-linked marketing. Invite to the African Destubathon
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:12, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
