Nirvana
[edit]Nice work finding a reference for your contention in Nirvana. You really used the Process we like to see. First you made a Bold edit, an editor asked for a source, and you found one and added it. For that, you get:

References
[edit]If you want your references to "stick", it would help if you include full citations not just bare links. -- J. Wong (talk) 01:19, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Adding a bare link to Youtube to support your edits is inadequate. The link says it was from Spanish television interview. Track it down and cite that and use the link to back up the citation, but do not provide the link as the only citation. Also there is a question of WP:COPYVIO. The posted interview may be a copyright violation. Just because it hasn't yet been taken down doesn't mean its legal. -- J. Wong (talk) 23:41, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
In Utero
[edit]Hi, worldwide sales figures in general are hard to count accurately, for a number of reasons (chief among them, not all countries count records sold accurately or even report the figures), so it's no big deal if a verified global sales number can't be found for any album. Believe me, I've searched for them for In Utero, but all I've found is the US sales (and even that was hard to track down). Sure, it'd be nice to have worldwide sales figures, but if they don't exist, they don't exist. If you find a worldwide sales figure, ask around first to find out if it comes from what is considered a reliable source, then cite it. Also, the thing about the themes in the lead section (that is, the very top of the article) is that it's summarizing information from the "Music and lyrics" and "Packaging and title" section, as lead sections are supposed to do. So maybe it could be rewritten to better describe the article's content, but the primary purpose of the sentence you were altering was to summarize the contents of the article, which is what that part of the page is supposed to do, and not provide new information that isn't covered elsewhere in the page. The funny thing is--putting aside the copyright issues with the first video you linked--although you wanted to include Cobain's comment about "life and death" from the video, that's merely a passing line in his explanation of the album's greater theme, medical imagery--which is indeed covered at length in the article already! [edit]Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to In Utero (album). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 04:13, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- RE: Recent edit to In Utero (album). RIAA and many other certifying organizations base their awards on shipments to retailers, not subsequent sales to consumers. See album list at List of music recording certifications for distinctions. Dan56 (talk) 23:05, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at List of music considered the worst, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. -- Winkelvi ● ✉ ✓ 19:50, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of music considered the worst. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Winkelvi ● ✉ ✓ 19:51, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
