Block of 2601:C:5300:1A8:88DA:7E0C:C3B2:A5F1

Hi. I noticed you've blocked this IP for "making disruptive edits that repeatedly triggered the edit filter". But they only ever made one edit (a disruptive one, I'll grant you). If you intended to block a repeatedly vandalising IP, have you blocked the wrong one? Nick Levine (talk) 08:16, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Nope, the block looks fine to me. [1], not sure if you can see the full log though. Legoktm (talk) 08:47, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. So the IP made changes which are in the filter log but not in either the page's change history or the IP's contributions list? I hadn't appreciated that this could happen. (When checking recent changes, should I routinely look in the filter log?). Thanks. Nick Levine (talk) 10:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Answering my own question, filter 380 prevents the user from performing the action in question. Nick Levine (talk) 11:06, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
384 too, yup. He clearly wasn't getting the message via the warnings the filter was giving him, so I blocked him before he brute-forced his way through. --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 16:11, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, I wouldn't know about 384: it appears to be hidden from public view. When I read the IP's filter log some lines just said triggered an edit filter and didn't have any clickable links. :) Nick Levine (talk) 17:10, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
