I was able to post on one student's page but I can't seem to be able to post to anyone else's! Hope I'm doing this right. I think we are all in the same boat — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editurregui (talk • contribs) 19:48, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Shelby, it seems like many of us are confused but it's nothing that a little time won't fix! Bill Nye OU (talk) 21:57, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Shelby my name is Chris. I think soon we will all be really good at this stuff. Just as with anything it takes just a little bit of time. I am currently in the same boat as you so I understand! Have a great evening! (chriscorbaz) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chriscorbaz (talk • contribs) 22:08, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Possible articles for my assignment
[edit]-Dissertatio cum Nuncio Siderero -Galileo's "Letter to Madame Christina of Lorraine, Grand Duchess of Tuscany, Concerning the Use of Biblical Quotations in Matters of Science" -the "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems- Ptolemaic and Copernican"
These are all different papers/letters/debates mentioned in chapter 3 of Osler's book.

I'd like to add another possible subject for my paper
[edit]In reading Chapter 5 from Osler for Monday, I found Descartes' "La dioptrique (Optics)" which was a paper printed with his Discourse on Method about light optics. After spending a year in Physics, I find all his findings from the paper very interesting as these were the theories we learned about during the optics portion of the class. I'd say that this essay would be my number one choice for my Wikipedia article.Shelby thomas15 (talk) 17:31, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Shelby. Any of the four sources you mentioned would be great. I particularly like the idea of the Descartes piece. There doesn't appear to be much about it on Wikipedia. You might actually be starting a new article for it, which would be exciting. My only real concern would be finding enough sources in English. Let me know if you need any help. Peer Review for La dioptrique Page
[edit]I think you have a great start on your article. I'm not sure what the rectilinear transmission of light is. Is there a way for you to briefly explain that term? There some tense and capitalization issues on your page, but they have been highlighted in our copy of your page. Hyperlinks are always a great addition to your page. Again, Good start. A couple of general comments on your La dioptrique page:
- Watch your verb tenses
- Double check your reference formatting
- Change the line breaks to blockquotes where appropriate
- Add appropriate wikipedia hyperlinks
- Introduce your sources before directly referencing them in text (Sabra in the Controversy section)
- Maybe add pictures
Looks really good otherwise! Elizabeth.Hurd423 (talk) 20:10, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
A kitten for you!
