[edit]
Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Shazzbot, contains the suffix "-bot", which is generally reserved for authorized bot accounts.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. NJA | talk 15:59, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You really need a name without "bot" in it in a way that could suggest a bot. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:14, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Renamed and unblocked. Please read and thoroughly understand WP:COI and WP:PROMO before editing further. You appear to have been violating that while editing Draft:MediaMath and should stay away from any subject area for which you have a conflict of interest, lest you be reblocked indefinitely. Conflict of interest edits

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Shaz-nz. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Yamla (talk) 11:07, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

As you have refused to follow the warnings you were given above, I have now blocked you indefinitely. Please tell your other coworkers that any further sockpuppet accounts will be blocked without warning. Your company has not been behaving itself. --Yamla (talk) 10:39, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi Yamla, I'm sorry I thought I was doing my very best to create a factual article. I'm not writing anything for profit or attempting to advertise and am happy to prove that if you'd like.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:51, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'm not buying it. You were told quite clearly to stay away from MediaMath. You were clearly pointed to WP:COI and WP:PROMO. You ignored these warnings and continued to advertise MediaMath. And it's not the first time your company has violated these policies. Or the second. Or the third. I strongly oppose an unblock for this account or any of the other spammers from MediaMath. --Yamla (talk) 10:45, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi Yamla, I work for LiveRamp and was simply attempting to fill a hole in wikipedia as there is no article at present for one of our partners and one of the largest Demand-side_platforms, while there are articles for Trade Desk and AppNexus. I acknowledge the first attempt I made was using text referenced from advertising sources and was not suitable so I attempted to correct that. It's a bit harsh to say MediaMath violated policies - I imagine it was just other users in the industry like myself unknowingly falling foul of rules, and that is quite easy to do with advertising companies and as all reference material is about advertising!

Decline reason:

Your unblock was explicitly conditional on not editing about MediaMath. You did not satisfy that condition, therefore you were reblocked. Plain and simple. I'm withdrawing your ability to make further appeals because you refuse to understand this. MER-C 14:02, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
