Help needed in suitably paraphrasing newspaper content in "http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Tamil_Brahmi"
[edit]- Sir, greetings from N.Srinivasan (user: srirangam99). Sir, being interested in matters of art, and architecture, I chanced upon this newspaper link from my friend, which throws some new light and raises questions on whether (or not) the Tamil Brahmi script is older in origin that it is considered to be now. There is an entire article which appeared in "The Hindu" paper of (just) yesterday, i.e. 29th August, 2011.
- Sir, here is the link to the newspaper article.(http://www.thehindu.com/news/states/tamil-nadu/article2408091.ece). I have been so intrigued by the contents of the article and became so interested in the subject that I thought a major part of the article would deserve mention in the Wiki article on Tamil Brahmi i.e. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Tamil_Brahmi. But as is the case with any inexperienced newby on wiki, I simply did not know how to suitably paraphrase the article. So what I have done (like an absolute idiot) is create a new para within the article titled "Recent findings and developments" and copied the entire article therein. The end-result is there for you to see, it is not at all looking good and it needs heavy editing so that the absolutely necessary content only needs to be retained with the waste-part needing to be deleted/pruned.
- I request you may kindly go through the article and help out, so that the article loses the touch of a stupid amateur like me.
- Thanks a bunch in advance, Sir. Srirangam99 (talk) 11:16, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm no professional, either! But you're right - it does deserve to be mentioned... Let's find out some more and then add it in. shash (talk) 18:08, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sir, thank you for the reply. But can you at least do this? Pls. go to the Tamil Brahmi article and see the para where I have placed the contents of the press reports under the para "Recent findings and developments". You can see how the contents match up in the context of the whole article and do some editing. I am sure, the entire article need not have been or be copied or read into the article. You can decide on your own and proceed with deletion of the unwanted portion/s. Is that ok Sir? Srirangam99 (talk) 09:19, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
