Thank you for your edits on the Shah Rukh Khan page.

Hey Shakirfan, just giving you a heads-up - The Shilpa Shetty article could probably do with a spring-clean as she is reported to be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother 2007 soon. I've cleaned it already as best as I could, including references and stuff, but these thigns always need expansion. I'll be keeping a heads-up in the media also for reliable info to go in this article. Hope you're well. Ekantik talk 03:55, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

re:screenshots

Hiya, well I use a programme called snag it, which makes things a lot easier, but you dont have to have that. If you are watching an episode on your PC, or have a video clip for example, press pause and then press the PRT SCR button, which should be on the top row of keys on your keyboard. This will capture the exact image of your pc screen in its entirety. If you then want to crop the image to get rid of the windows bars or make the image more precise, then you add it to a programme like photoshop and trim the image (if you have snag it you dont need to do this as you can select exact portions you want to capture from the start) and then save it to your pc.

You may have problems with hardware acceleration depending on the programme you use to watch the episodes with (realplayer and media player have this problem). You know when this happens because when you save the capture to your pc, all you get is a blank black screen and no image. To fix this problem right click anywhere on your desk top and then select properties option. When the box opens select the settings option, then select advanced, then troubleshoot - then move the hardware acceleration bar all the way down to none - click apply and ok. You should then be able to take captures without getting the black screen. When you've finished put the acceleration bar back to full again. If you still have problems in these players (in windows media player for instance, some files wont play when there is no hardware acceleration and you only get sound) then I would recommend downlaoding a media player called VLC media player. It's free and really good for taking captures as you can slow down the clips at several varying speeds.

Is this what you wanted to know? or were you wondering where i get the episodes from? Gungadin 17:42, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

My pleasure, hope it helps :) Gungadin 17:48, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Bhumika Chawala.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bhumika Chawala.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 16:44, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Recent edit to Deaths in 2007

Hello. Thank you for your recent edit to Deaths in 2007. Your edit included one or more links to the page Indian, which is a disambiguation page. This type of page is intended to direct users to more specific topics. Ordinarily we try to avoid creating links to disambiguation pages, since it is preferable to link directly to the specific topic relevant to the context. You can help Wikipedia by revising the links you added to Deaths in 2007 to refer directly to the most relevant topic. Why are actors who have appeared in Bollywood films in the category "Indian actors"? English in actors in Hollywood films aren't listed as "American actors"? If he's British, then he's a British actor. The British Asian cat. is fine, I siuppose (though pesonally i find that sort of thing pointlessly divisive). --Mel Etitis (Talk) 20:41, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Summaries

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

--Mel Etitis (Talk) 23:17, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 21:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I doubt the film Dus (1997) should be included in the final filmography table per WP:FILMOGRAPHY, however either:

  • The article can be put up for deletion
  • Or be mentioned in the text for her Film career.

Thanking You, FA Maker 15:03, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

SRK

You removed the paragraph talking about Karan Johan, Kajol and SRK's special relationship. I see that someone else also agrees with me about that entire block being nonsense :P

I'd like to request you to also have a look at the talk page of SRK's article, where I've made a few suggestions for improvement, I've seen your contributions on WP Bollywood-bios and believe you could add a good perspective with your experience dealing with such articles.

Thanking you for your time, Regards, xC | 17:30, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Ricky and Bianca

Thanks, but I managed to get hold of the episodes myself so the stuff on the Bianca page should hopefully be accurate, but feel free to change it or add to it if you want to :) Gungadin 12:27, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi

I saw your AfD's on a few articles put up by Sc4900 (talk · contribs), and voted on them. Just thought I'd drop you a note that I've reported this user on ANI.

The link is - WP:ANI#Reporting_continous_insertion_of_unsourced_material.

Your thoughts on this matter, or any comments you could add to the discussion there would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Regards, xC | 18:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I agree that it doesn't really need two images since it is so short; however, I disagree about the DVD cover being better. It is better quality but we favor posters because they are original, or at least close to the release. This is a 1979 film so it was released on at least VHS and DVD--possibly laserdisc, VCD, etc. The film poster isn't of the best quality but it still is a better representation, even if the quailty isn't as good. The best solution may be to keep both since... they are there already... or, you could get a screenshot of the two main actors if you think that better represents the film. Film posters are used as a standard not necessarily because they have the best pictures but because they are important in light of being the film poster. gren グレン 10:41, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi!

Hi Shakirfan. I 've recently expanded the Akshay Kumar page. I see you opposed to one sentence of mine. Please have a look at the current version, and share your opinions in this issue (if you have them of course). I wanted to work on this page long time ago. He is a great actor and deserves to have good, described and chronological ordered career section, rather than the previous and the very generally written one. Thanks, Best Regards. --Shshshsh 14:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

hey there

Hi!

I've seen your contributions to the Bollywood pages, most recently your cleanup of the SRK article.

I was wondering, what was your opinion on the addition of brand endorsements in the article? I believe the same discussion has taken place on several other actors' pages, and it was decided to not include brand endorsements.

  • Is this by convention, or is there any formal guideline/policy against?
  • Or is it an extension of WP:NOT in the sense that WP isn't an advertising medium and therefore shouldn't have brand names in the individual's page, although signing of a celebrity by the brand can be mentioned on the brand page?

I asked because the same issue was brought up on several filmbios, most recently Shah Rukh Khan. Your guidance in this matter would be appreciated,

Best regards,xC | 17:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Ah, well I would qualify as one of those who believe that this sort of list is unencyclopedic. However I think this is something the community needs to have a look at, for wider debate. Both sides have some valid points, and this is something that gets confusing, what with half the pages having brands and the others not having em.
I guess Wikiproject Bollywood would be the best place to ask something like this, yes? Or is there any other page you could suggest, which would attract a more thorough discussion?

Fair use rationale for Image:Sooryavansham.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sooryavansham.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:48, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

MADHUBALA page

Dear Shakeel

I noticed you edited my contributions on Madhubala. I was just wondering what your reasoning was in the restructure? By placing the segment on Mugal e azam in the "Madhbuala" the star section you created discrepencies in the cronological order of events. Also why did you feel it is neccesary to delete the section on Madhubala attracting attention form th wider film comunity like Hollywood? Just would like to hear your reasonings. I am a great fan of Madhubala are you one also? which is your favorite movie of hers? Regards Navsikand 17:40, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Manisha Koirala

Hey, thanks for the message!

I don't really know and I'm not sure. I don't really trust IMDB anymore, but IndiaFM lists First Love Letter first, and it's a reliable source. I don't care for this case, but still, it's better to be precise.

Why are you 100% sure? Are there some reasons or sources for that?

Is there a particular reason you are putting this up for speedy deletion? Concerning the fair use requirement, the tag was added because it isn't listed under a heading stating "Fair use ratione for Hum (film)". The image should also be reduced in size so that one of its dimensions is less than 300px. Other then this, you probably don't have to delete the image. --Nehrams2020 22:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. Thankyou, your comments are always valuable. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
