An extended welcome

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 18:39, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advise. I only edit pages on subjects that interest me as well as companies and people I admire. ShadesHeroGurly (talk) 20:00, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please declare you previohs account

[edit]

Its clear tyat you have edited before. Please declare your previous account. Spartaz Humbug! 10:44, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Spartaz, I have never denied editing before. I estimate I have been editing Wikipedia for over three years. However, this is the first time I have created a username. I have nothing else to declare. Please consider: Wikipedia:Single-purpose account#Other considerations. I also have extensive experience with HTML and other markup languages as well as an interest in improving Wikipedia's coverage of people and companies in Web 2.0.
Looking at my edit history, I guess I can understand how a reasonable person can mistrust my motives. Please, return the Vero (app) article to draft and I will submit it to AFC. Would that assuage your misgivings? Otherwise, I don't know what to say. ShadesHeroGurly (talk) 23:07, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
what ip addresses have you used or can you point to some of your ip edits. Spartaz Humbug! 05:45, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Ankur Jain, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
