If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Blarney Pilgrims requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Tchaliburton (talk) 01:44, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If you want, I can move this to the draft namespace where it can be worked on further. This template is designed more for local teenage garage bands, and I know from firsthand experience that finding sources for 60s and 70s bands that meet Wikipedia's referencing standards can be difficult. See England (band) as an example. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 06:54, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

[edit]

I've deleted the entry because it appears to be copyvio from this site. Please understand that we cannot accept anything that is a copyright violation (WP:COPYVIO), and articles should be written in your own words. Even if the original copyright holders were to give up the text as fair use, the page would still need to be re-written in order to remove anything that could be seen as a personal viewpoin/opinion or promotion for the group. For example, the phrase "Jim plays the flute, tin whistle, and banjo, all in a wonderful Celtic style." is seen as an opinion and promotional in tone, so it would have to be re-written to meet our NPOV guidelines. (WP:NPOV) Same thing goes for the sentence "If you happen to hear a wonderful Irish fiddler playing amazing jigs and reels in Northern California, it's probably Wendy Wendt." At some point the article would still need to be re-written in your own words. However even if the text was neutral, re-writing it would still be a good idea because text copied from another source is always considered to be contentious and the article will be continuously tagged with various things as copyvio, promotional, COI, and so on- it's usually better and easier just to re-write it in your own words. I've personally found that it just saves a little more time in the long run. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:14, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
