Formatting of the map on your userpage
[edit]Just thought you would like to know that the map under ==major Projects== is covering the text when looked at in IE. --Fuhghettaboutit 00:14, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I was looking at the page for the town of Michigamme, Michigan, and I noted the map that you uploaded. The location for the town is not accurate, and I wondered where you got the image so that it can be corrected. Thanks.
Survey
[edit]I am conducting a survey on Wikipedia and would like to invite you to participate in the study. I've posted a message on wikien-l, but here is the link again in case you are not subscribed to that list-serv. Thanks a lot for your time! --Mermes 01:27, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Badnarik2004Convention.JPG)
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Badnarik2004Convention.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ed g2s • talk 01:49, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Using your maps
[edit]I'm new-ish to wiki, I've never uploaded an image. I edited one of your "dot-on" map images of Georgia to use on the new article "Peachtree Corners, Georgia". Is it ok with you if I use the edited image in that article? (I noticed in your user page that there may be some restrictions on the "dot-on" maps.) What license should I apply?
Timnath Colorado
[edit]Seth,
As the Town Clerk of the Town of Timnath, Colorado I did, indeed, remove portions of text from the article on Timnath, Colorado. I'm happy to hear from you, as the history of the article indicates you are responsible for most/all of the information edited by myself.
I'm happy to provide an explanation for my edits:
Duplications: "approximately one-half mile east of Harmony Road/Interestate 25 interchange" - twice "on a small bluff east of the Cache la Poudre River" - twice "surrounding farmlands have been used primarily for . . ." - twice "Most residences are one-family" - twice Location is given in no less than three places: introductory paragraph, description, and geography. Once is adequate.
Errors: Union Pacific Railroad has not/does not run through Timnath -- the Great Western Railroad currently does, purchased from former owner Burlington Northern. There is not a sheet metal manufacturing facility in Timnath The mayor was elected in 2004 versus 2006 "as of November 2005, the post is vacant" (re: Town Administrator) -- incorrect "one street parallel to Main Street" -- incorrect Typographical error under "Government" -- "in which 58 of the towns 145 registered votes (should be "voters") participated" "In 2005, the town trustees authorized consideration of becoming a home rule municipality" -- incorrect, registered voters of Timnath authorized consideration of becoming a home rule municipality in the April 2006 municipal election Ex parte comments: "Board of Trustees refused to renew the liquor license" "current controversy with the county" City of Fort Collins separator
It is my assumption that it "is generaly not considered good form on Wikipedia" to provide inaccurate and biased information. Thus, my edits.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at Timnath Town Hall; 970-224-3211. Better yet, at best, we're a fifteen minute drive from your Fort Collins location. Please come visit us to receive accurate information first hand. Town Hall is located at 4100 Main Street. We look forward to meeting you.

My comments:
- Expand lead, per WP:LEAD. Another paragraph would be sufficient.
- Add more information, at its current state this is too short to become featured.
- Fix red links.
- Make sure there are no spelling/grammar mistakes.
- Make sure the prose is very good.
- 'References' section should be re-named "Footnotes".
- Together Alone book mentioned should be put into a "References" section, using {{Cite book}} template.

- The article is already looking better! You may have noticed I did a few minor edits. :-) — Wackymacs 18:26, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- Just make sure its long enough, detailed enough, and that the prose is good. If the written quality is not excellent, it will be criticized. — Wackymacs 18:31, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Looks pretty good to me. You do need to find a citation for Broughton's sighting in 1795. Since you added that fact in the first version of the article, you must know where it came from. Also, another photo taken on Caroline Island would be good. I've done a quick Google Image search, and one possibility was the first photo (with tug boat wreck) at [1]. Of course you would have to approach the web site owner to see if they could release the photo under GFDL or similar. You could also approach the Kiribati Government to see if they are willing to release a photo.-gadfium 02:43, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Updating Pennsylvania Dot Maps
[edit]I have had to redesign the infoboxes for several Pennsylvania cities, since they were marked with a deprecated infobox tag. Unfortunately, the new infobox does not give me the option to place the dot of the city on the map, resulting in a blank state map. I was wondering, if you could give me an idea about what I should do about updating the maps to where the dot is placed on a Pennsylvania map, and where I need to upload them to. Thanks a bunch! --No1lakersfan 20:41, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Dot Maps do not load in infobox.
[edit]Some image maps do not load while using an infobox, on the otherhand they load with regular imagetags. I know the code is right, because when I try other imagemaps as a sandbox test, it works. Do you have any ideas, or know someone on here that can help? Jonathan Johnson 16:56, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Timnath
[edit]Seth,
My apologies for not replying to your e-mail sooner. The Town Administrator has been out of the office this week. She will be back on June 20th. Upon her return, I'll check to see what works for her as far as meeting with you.
I appreciate your willingness to come visit Timnath. I look forward to meeting you.

Proposal on Notability
[edit]Because you're a member of the Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians, I'm notifying you that the inclusionist proposa Wikipedia:Non-notabilityl is in progress to define the role of notability in articles. Please help us make this successful! Also note the proposal Wikipedia:Importance is a deletionist proposla that seeks to officially introduce notabiltiy for the first time. Make sure this is defeated! --Ephilei 22:27, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Using Picture
[edit]Dear Seth,
I thought you’d like to know that I intend to use your picture ‘Smoke Alarm' form the wikipedia page.
I am an Editor at a UK educational software company called Boardworks. We produce interactive electronic resources for teachers to use with interactive whiteboards and data projectors in schools. These resources are in the form of PowerPoint presentations with embedded Flash activities. Your image will be used in a PowerPoint presentation for teaching about Gravity and Space development to 14-16 year old students.
I will credit the image to ‘Seth ilys', unless I hear otherwise from you.
Kind regards,
Stephen Thomas
