A tag has been placed on Setanta Sports Australia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 05:04, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Username =
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Your Username is an advert, which is not allowed under wiki policy, it also implies you may have a conflict of interests when editing related to Setanta Sports Australia.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. Nate1481(t/c) 09:09, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- While I understand that you did were trying not to hide your identity, editing articles in which you have a vested interest, such as articles about you or your employer is discouraged as it could represent a conflict of interests with maintaing a neutral point of view, i.e. there will always be a temptaion to remove negative material and phrase things in a positive light. The prefered method for input (other than reverting vandalism, such as the IP removing a large chunk for no reason) it to put the infomation on the talk page and ask for another user to add it, basically using them as a POV filter/checker. I hope that explains things, and again welcome. --Nate1481(t/c) 09:38, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Might I please reiterate what Nate1481 has said, adding that it is also inappropriate for you to add mentions of Setanta Sports Australia to all of the sporting events that the channel broadcasts, especially when such information is not given even for the host broadcasters. Thanks. – PeeJay 12:10, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of BeIN Sports (Australia)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on BeIN Sports (Australia), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
