Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to Valladares, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:34, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've pasted above some a short guide for editing in English wikipedia and suggest you read it so that your work here is not deleted. On the article Valladares, please do not copy and paste from other existing articles without attribution since copy-pasting from another article is breach of licensing policy. The article should concentrate on the last name Valladares and should not become a treatise on the history of the Iberian Peninsula. It is important to add inline citations, references from reliable sources. Newspapers are not neccesarily the best sources for this topic. I am going to suggest to an administrator tomorrow that perhaps there should be two separate articles, one on the last name in general, and the other one on the last name in India. Please do not edit the article today and wait until the administrator gives his opinion. --Maragm (talk) 08:27, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from a different Wikipedia article to Valladares (your addition has since been removed by another user). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 16:29, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
