Welcome (again)
(: Glad to see you made the move to a username! I thought you might be interested in the Harry Potter WikiProject. It's a good place to go looking for ways you can help the series' articles. The project is part of the Harry Potter portal. You can follow this link to sign up to make contributions to the project, and from there you can add a Potter-related userbox to start your userpage!
Sorry if that was a lot all at once -- you can message me back with any questions. I'll respond both here and on my userpage. See you around! AshleyScripter {talkback} 03:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Snape
Nice additions to the Snape loyalties section! Thanks. Magidin (talk) 14:11, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Adding covers is tricky: the images are generally copyrighted, and so you would need to give a valid rationale for fair use. I doubt you can find one for adding the cover of the book. In addition, I personally don't think it would add much to the article, so I would not be in favor of adding it (though I would not actively remove it on content grounds either). As to Snape's family, we know very little of it. Voldermot's, Harry's, Ron's families are all important within the story, and Dumbledore's plays an important role in the last book. Other than the fact that Snape is a half-blood, his family background is about as important as Quirrell's. And his half-blood status is already mentioned. That's my two cents, anyway. Peer Review of Pakistan
It might be good idea to get some attention to this review by asking a suitable volunteer to review the article from this list Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers. --lTopGunl (talk) 22:52, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- I asked Finetooth & Casliber. In the mean time I have a mind to remove one of the two instruments pics from the cultural section. They give the impression that our culture is all about music. And this line "However a majority of Pakistanis listen to Indian music produced by Bollywood and other Indian film industries." since its not cited. Thought to ask you before per your comment of consensus here [1].September88 (talk) 02:22, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think certain musical instruments are a part of Pakistani culture. Rubab for instance is famously used by Pushtun. If you think that the images are overshadowing the culture section, shrinking them in size can do some good. Another good idea may be to add some text to balance it and add other culture related images. Bollywood has no significance to Pakistan even if it is watched in Pakistan. This line should be removed. Good, let's see what the more experienced editors have to say. --lTopGunl (talk) 02:26, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- I do think they are overshadowing, we can leave rubab in, but what does sitar signifies? But otherwise I'll work on adding better images sometime today.September88 (talk) 02:35, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- I just reviewed for Sitar, it is there in culture of Pakistan and music of Pakistan. So there's no need to keep it here too (though it is relevant but not enough to be in the main article). I think culture should show all aspects - where Rubab shows the folk culture a mosque's image or something relevant should be added to show the other flavour. How about it? Also, I think this discussion if moved to the review page can get more related input. --lTopGunl (talk) 02:41, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Lets move it to Pakistan discussion page. I think its better if we wait for reviews before posting anything further on review page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by September88 (talk • contribs)
- Right. --lTopGunl (talk) 02:54, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Copyedit the One Tree Hill (TV series) article?
Hello, September88. I saw you at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests, where you withdrew from one article (on December 7th) because the main contributor was reverting all of your edits. I'd just like to state that we'd be glad to have you copyedit the One Tree Hill (TV series) article. The GA reviewer feels that this article is in dire need of copyediting. See Talk:One Tree Hill (TV series)/GA1. The GA process has been extended to December 25 to allow for this and other improvements.
I feel that it's best to personally ask a copyeditor about this...since I don't think that any copyeditor will get to this article in time. I would start on the copyediting myself (already did one small part), but I feel that it needs fresh eyes. I can understand, however, if you're too busy to do this or just don't want to because the topic isn't interesting to you. Flyer22 (talk) 21:16, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking Flyer. On first glance the article look fine to me but the reviewer seems have very high standards. I'll see what improvements I can make. Will work on it between 21st-24th. September88 (talk) 10:39, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, September88. Yes, it seems that we got a very tough reviewer. I'll let the nominator know when you plan to copyedit the article so that he can be aware of this as well. He plans to take care of some issues later today, maybe mostly the Amazon.com sourcing. Flyer22 (talk) 10:48, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Question: Should I remove One Tree Hill (TV series) from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests page, make a note that it now has a copyeditor, or let you comment there that you will be copyediting it? Flyer22 (talk) 01:42, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- I've commented there no problem. September88 (talk) 01:54, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Pakistan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indo-Aryan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Major edits
I see that you are making some complex edits in a go or in short time, you might want to tag the article with {{inuse}} before going through those and remove when done to prevent irritating edit conflicts. --lTopGunl (talk) 12:45, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

- Been adding some citations. You might want to take a look at the sources of Cemetery H culture for the content you removed referenced under "currentsocial". There are a few academic works here which reference the same topic. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:30, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

I know, that site is down. I gave you a related article, Cemetery H culture, which has sources. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:40, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Right...I found the info at harrapa.com there but will hold on citing it until I can confirm the sites reliability. September88 (talk) 00:06, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about that site, the books however are reliable. Kenoyer 1991a; Shaffer 1992 for instance has been cited to the related content and we can safely assume that the editor of that article would have reviewed it and we can add it here to cover that content (or confirm from a google books search). --lTopGunl (talk) 00:11, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Also, when you replace the google books' publisher, keep the link to the google books in the url section of the same template so that it can be checked out online. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:57, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- There are only two Google links to be replaced, one of which I did already. September88 (talk) 00:23, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- No, I mean, do replace the google books with the real publisher's name and title but donot replace the links as it gives access to the same book. See the last edits, I added back google links to the books you fixed. --lTopGunl (talk) 00:26, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- I know, was just saying it isn't a big deal. Why not keep the books citation method consistent with the rest 100 instead of Google linking for two?
- Google links leads to problems like fine tooth said. The link you re-added was not showing the pages before and liable to be rendered useless anytime again as I know google constantly changes the pages available to be previewed. Not to mention, I cited this book for 'cuisine' too but the link will only take the reader to 'Multan shrines' page when he'll be looking for lassi details. You can keep them if you like but I advice against them. September88 (talk) 00:38, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- You got Finetooth's comment wrong. What he meant was, not to list google books as a publisher rather add the real publisher of the book, author name etc... (at the end he said add the google link still as courtesy if you want). Now after this, even if the google link changes or is inaccessible, the citation is still complete. The link will just add an online access. That's why I added the link. That wont change the consistency as the link is added to the same text instead of a separate link. I'll link what I can find, I've personally found it helpful to verify the content from google when linked. This might help in directly converting a google book link into a proper reference. [2] --lTopGunl (talk) 00:44, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

SPI
You might want to take a look at this [3] (but I'll advise you not to respond there and let the troll get blocked on his own actions). A user is claiming you (and many others including me) to be a sockpuppet of another user just because you are reviewing Pakistan - just a heads up. --lTopGunl (talk) 13:49, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- Leaving messages to self is an old trick ISI, if it turns out that you're using September88 then what? I'm not a troll. I just felt that Pakistanis and Indians need to stop editing under countless socks when all they need is one. I suspect you to be a sockmaster so stop involving others as that is WP:MEAT (see also WP:Meat puppetry). You're doing this on Talk:Taliban and else where.--Kiftaan (talk) 14:55, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- I see that you are finding it hard to decide that whether it is 'self' or 'meat-puppetry'. Stop wasting our time with baseless allegations. All my disputes go through legitimate process. You have the cheek to blame a user 10 times your own edit count of being a sock (and butting in to conversations uninvited)? --lTopGunl (talk) 15:06, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- If you're not using socks then why are you worried and protesting? I don't edit any Pakistani pages so I don't have issues with you on that, and could care less if you have 100s of socks. I began my SPI on an editor from India because he was making socks to mess up pages with shitty pics and later I decided to see if the same person was involved in Pakistan because there I became suspecious after seeing so many names editing at the same time. I will remove my argument if you promise to stop using socks.--Kiftaan (talk) 15:18, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- Go ahead and have your fun. I've warned you for vandalizing my user page and not to butt in to conversations you don't belong. September88's talk is not for your trolling - I would expect a blanking of this section if I were you. I don't care what or where you started from. I will not reply to any of your allegations. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:28, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Yeah! 'see that you decide to rather keep the amusing conversation. Good that you didn't get a direct confrontation with the guy. Sock Puppet Investigation 101 for you, lol. --lTopGunl (talk) 02:39, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- Haha, yeh. I undid it initially but reverted back, like why not? Its funny. September88 (talk) 02:57, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Good going
Good going on Pakistan... I wouldn't have even seen many of those minor issues with ref and all. I'm keeping tabs on the article have an exam this weekend so a bit busy... also stuck on wiki with some content disputes :/ --lTopGunl (talk) 01:02, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks and no problem. I see you constantly head butting with vandals. Good going really, that requires major courage and resilience! And good luck for your exams. September88 (talk) 01:16, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Some one has to do that too. Will try to run some detailed rechecks on the article on Sunday including those switch codes so that we can finally have all the good images included. Ty. --lTopGunl (talk) 01:24, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

G20
Hi... I saw that you removed the bit about G20 in this edit. However, if you open up the G20 developing nations article, it shows Pakistan as a member. Mar4d (talk) 02:55, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oops. I edited on basis of this 1, but now I see this G20 is different. Feel free to revert back my edits with a tiny summary whenever you're sure they are mistaken. And just to mention, Chipmunkdavis has added his final comments on Wikipedia:Peer review/Pakistan/archive3. Maybe you could help out with the grammar and dominion problems in the lead which confuses me a bit. September88 (talk) 04:37, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll have a look and see what I can do. On another note, I like the Islamabad Blue Area photo and was in fact exactly going to propose that one. I think that photo and the current Karachi financial district pic are enough for the economy section. Mar4d (talk) 06:47, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Picked up this one from Next Eleven page. Yep, this and Karachi will do fine. September88 (talk) 06:54, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Switches
I've added the switches. Take a look at the article and the talk page section. --lTopGunl (talk) 01:16, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Just wondering, since there is already a picture of a tree in 'economy', how about get rid of the national tree in the fauna/flora section> Having two trees is kind of overstretching it in my opinion. I think we should just stick to the flower Jasmine pic for that section. India also uses a flower for its section. What do you think (I'd like third opinion)? Mar4d (talk) 12:16, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- We were discussing this on the article talk when you came up with the switch solution and left the discussion there in favour of keeping both with a switch. I guess this should rather be balanced by adding a switch to the economy orchard image too by adding some farm image. --lTopGunl (talk) 15:16, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- Mar4d my initial views about the tree pics were exactly the same as yours. But like TopGun said, we finally settled on using switch mode to balance things. I too think that maybe balancing that Mango orchid similarly with switch mode is a good idea to avoid tree overloading. I'd say something like a service/textile/telecommunication sector image or a graph should be used in this case. September88 (talk) 09:03, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Sources from this article were removed saying that they were mirror copies of Wikipedia - though I've not verified it - it might be a good idea to find other sources (especially offline ones) for the article. Can you keep an eye out for them? (on a low priority since you're the most active contributor to the Pakistan's overhaul as well)... The subject is notable but sources seem to be rare. I'm currently searching for offline ones too. Will be glad if you can help. Thanks. --lTopGunl (talk) 01:58, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sure no problem :-) September88 (talk) 05:02, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

- Haha, I knew, that's why I said keep it on a low priority. I checked out the urdu wikipedia too but the article has same condition there. I'm keeping a tab on my library's newspapers. --lTopGunl (talk) 18:44, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Pakistan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page War in Afghanistan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GOCE March copy edit drive
Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their March 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on March 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on March 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goal for the drive will be to eliminate the remaining 2010 articles from the queue. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa, Stfg, and Coordinator emeritus SMasters. 19:52, 20 February 2012 (UTC) >>> Sign up now <<<
