Speedy deletion of Cilla Snowball

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Cilla Snowball, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. [edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Cilla Snowball, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. BigDuncTalk 16:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

your work is OK

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I can see that Ms. Snowball's bio is perfectly real. You should have cited her official page at the company, [1] so I added it. She is the CEO of a major firm. Both of the above tags were wrong, and I have explained why to the person who placed them. (I suspect the reason for his marking it as vandalism was the possible joke nature of her name) But you should not have removed the speedy tags--that does not prevent deletion when deletion is warranted. The article remains on our list. The article needs a further touch up--of the references, not all of them are working. It is common for such sites to take the older material offline. If you can update the link, you should. And in any case when you cite a newspaper's web page, you need to find out where they published it in print, and add that to the reference--and use "cite news", not "cite web" . As for the picture, we cannot use it unless you are authorized and willing to give us a free license for it according to WP:COPYRIGHT, in which case follow the formalities there. It is probable from your user name that you are editing with a Conflict of Interest--this is not prohibited, but you need to be careful. Please read our our FAQ (on businesses and other organisations) which explains our policies on such things.

There is other material appropriate to add: Her year and place of birth, and her secondary and university education. If she has published anything in the business press you might want to add that information as well. Best wishes for further editing DGG (talk) 17:40, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
