This was a non-notable band according to the criteria set out in WP:BAND. Perhaps Myspace would be a better location for this information rather than an encylopedia, until the criteria are satisfied. (aeropagitica) 19:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why this band does not deserve an article. according to WP:band, a band deserves an article if it "Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers, personal blogs, etc...)." Well, they have been featured on msnbc at [1] and they have been featured in numerous independant music magazines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Senti_mental (talkcontribs)

Firstly, the article title should go at the top of your comments on my Talk page, so that I have something to which I can refer. Secondly, sign your name with four tildes, ~~~~ in order to make it easier to reply to your comments.

To quote from the article; "..the band released [their]first self titled ep in June of 2006." The criteria found at WP:Music states that a band is notable if it;

"Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)"

If you would like to develop the article in a Sandbox user sub-page before publication then please do so and the article can go up for AfD if the evidence provided is equivocal. (aeropagitica) 19:41, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Built like alaska, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
