Photo replacements

[edit]

I found scanned copies of Narutaru and replaced some of your black and white pictures with color pictures from the manga. WhisperToMe 22:11, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wow, thank you so much for that. I didn't have many color images except some low-quality screens from the anime, so thank you loads for uploading those. You even got the school bullies, too! And thank you for adding more information in the character bios! --Selo12394 18:18, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the pictures, User:Betacommand feels that there should not be any galleries of fair use images (like the one in Shadow Star), and that there is a strong movement against that. You should talk to him before making any further edits in "Shadow Star characters" WhisperToMe 01:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question of Ishida

[edit]

As for Ishida, where did you find the given name "Toshi"? - Was it from a fan site? An official source (as in a translated source?) WhisperToMe 16:54, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, now that I look over the manga again, Toshi is actually the name of another boy. Apparently, Ishida's given name is "Satoru", as when he is talking to his friends, one of them calls him Satoru. --Selo12394 19:34, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What page number is it? That way I can get the kanji and have it put here :) WhisperToMe 22:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't have the Japanese version... in English volume 7, it's the bottom left panel of page 10. --12:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Is the first page with Hiroko tied up with the monster arms around her? If so, page 10 shows Ishida with some guy, but I cannot tell what Ishida's given name is. There is ANOTHER boy named Satoru on Shiina's Island. Now, do you have a scan of the English page? WhisperToMe 22:27, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a scan of the English page now, though I might be able to scan it later. If you go from the beginning of chapter 29 (Hiroko with the Oni hands), then it should be page 12. I did know about the other Satoru on Shiina's island, but I had assumed maybe it was just a coincidence, or a minor translation slip-up. I'll try to get a scan of the English page later. --Selo12394 21:07, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bokurano characters

[edit]

The page needs to be written in present tense; people write about fiction in present tense. WhisperToMe 08:36, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't touched the Bokurano article - only Narutaru. --Selo12394 23:19, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wiki Ishida.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wiki Ishida.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:27, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Important

[edit]

Betacommand (NOT Betacommandbot - this is a person) removed the images deliberately. He knows you have FU rationale, but he feels it is invalid. You have to talk to him right away. He told me to read the following: Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2007-05-07/Fair_use - Also see User:Durin/Fair use overuse explanation - If you have not done so, please read them.

I would advise against reverting any more. Instead try to use the Village Pump and/or Wikipedia:RFC. WhisperToMe 02:31, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this. I wasn't aware that images in lists are against fair use. I'll see what happens with the discussion I opened at WP:NFCC. Selo12394 13:24, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
