I've started an ANI report because this is the second time the user has abused me as well as attempted to remove my comments at an AfD discussion and remove other users comments. just FYI. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:55, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And blocked by Black Kite :) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:56, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup it got noticed around the same time I posted this. Thanks Seb much appreciated. I know things like this happen once in a blue moon, but it still took me by suprise. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 01:02, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

STOP

[edit]

For future reference, since you were the first to falsely accuse me of something and assume bad faith, the next time you have something uncivil to say to me, stay the hell off my talk page and don't ever contact me. I don't want to see any message from you again.Mendsetting (talk) 02:41, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. I'll report you straight away w/o warnings and w/o notification. I'll link to this section instead. Thanks. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 11:58, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Genesis creation narrative

[edit]

Hi, Seb. I've suggested a compromise at Talk:Genesis creation narrative#Requested move. As a vocal supporter of the move, would you please comment on whether it would satisfy you? - Cal Engime (talk) 23:20, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am following this, but I'm not gonna waste my time arguing. If your suggestion is this, I'm not even sure what you propose. You need to somehow clarify that I think. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 23:26, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am proposing that we choose a page title that avoids the need to describe the myth as a myth, a narrative, or anything else by using a proper name for the story. One way to do this would be by writing an article in summary style about the Primeval History (a term for the first eleven chapters of Genesis, encompassing creation, the flood, and the Tower of Babel—see Book of Genesis#Structure), then renaming the article "Creation in the Primeval History" with "Main article: Primeval History" at the top. Alternatively, we could just move it to Creation in the Book of Genesis and make it a subarticle of the existing page on Genesis as a whole. - Cal Engime (talk) 23:36, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Wouldn't solve the problem. The problem is the special/different treatment this story/myth gets. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:49, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you read my comment in his talk, I suspect he has refactored before with a different IP. I tried to untangle it, but gave up. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 00:17, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

doesn't matter. s/he cannot simply claim "that was me". that's what creating an account is for. cheers to you as well :) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 01:26, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Really?

[edit]

Can you possibly be unaware that the attacks all started with protests over a movie? Regardless of who was behind the violence, the protests were the result of the outrage at the trailer. Amandajm (talk) 06:47, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

you need to justify those changes on the talkpage. Go there. No further posts by you here. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 06:50, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I'm becoming more convinced he's a troll, and he's certainly disruptive. In any case, I don't think engaging him is going to do anything but encourage him further. He's moved on to Talk:Anders Behring Breivik now, again accusing the editors of an apparent conspiracy. So I'd suggest taking him to ANI over the disruptive edits rather than engaging him on his talk page, as I suspect it's just feeding him... (I really don't have the time to open and deal with an ANI complaint right now, or I'd do it myself.) – 2001:db8:: (rfc | diff) 00:32, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Too much drama; I figure every second he's busy typing stuff on his talkpage he won't type elsewhere. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:34, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Algeria

[edit]

Hi! The first thing, is that I had started a discussion on the matter asking whether I should add French, and I linked that discussion from all relevant Wikiprojects. I went ahead and added French after several days of no responses: Talk:Algeria#French_in_lede

Based on the edit summary, I would like to inform you that French is a de facto working language of the Algerian government and in many instances is more prominent than Arabic (even though Arabic is official) - This is also true with Tunisia and Morocco

The journal article "The Syndrome of the French Language in Algeria." states that "French continues to be the dominant language in business and professional circles. Ironically, it is now enjoying something of a revival. With the advent of satellite television, most town-dwellers have access to French channels. If the French language is the expression of French culture, then Algerians, and Maghrebians at large, are exposed to it more than ever before, and French cultural influence is certainly not about to decline as long as French cultural production remains more interesting and entertaining than the Arabic one." it also points out "Also over the years, the Algerian government has pushed back, reintroducing French. It is staggering that certain aspects of formal education and research are still carried in the French language and a great part of the economic and industrial sectors and press still use French extensively." (p. 10 of 13)

I saw that (not the talkpage discussion though). It's surprising; we had a similar discussion at New Mexico, remember? Very well, i will readd Spanish to New Mexico, then. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 21:56, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alright - that's fine with me :) WhisperToMe (talk) 21:58, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Seb az86556. You tagged this article for deletion this morning as a copyright violation, however the link you provided was to another Wikipedia page, Fistweaver. In such cases, there is no copyright violation; instead, the appropriate tag to use is A10: New article that duplicates an existing article. Thanks for your CSD tagging work, keep it up! Yunshui  08:59, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong. Read the rules. You're an admin, you should know better. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 09:00, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I should. If I've made a mistake then obviously there's something here I haven't encountered before; please could you point me at the relevent policy/guideline bit, and I'll bring myself up to speed. Cheers, Yunshui  09:04, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I take it you mean this. Thanks for correcting me. Yunshui  09:06, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wallaroo Mines

[edit]

I believe the source material (at Wallaroo Mines) was licensed appropriately, see disclaimer page. I plan to remove the speedy, feel free to restore it if I misread the license.

However, as I noted on the talk page, the article still has problems—copying from a source without acknowledgment or reference is still problematic, plus there are notability problems. Would you be willing to take up these issues with the editor?--SPhilbrick(Talk) 12:46, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle

[edit]

Hi, can you advise? I've recently started using Twinkle and have noticed that when I rollback edits the article is automatically placed on my watchlist. How can I prevent this? Thanks in advance. Denisarona (talk) 10:46, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's here somewhere. Not sure... Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 10:48, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Assholes"

[edit]

I don't care if you call IPs who might be trolls assholes. However, I was blocked for being crude to an IP that was an obvious troll and I really do give a shit about decorum in a volatile topic area. I brought it up here: Wikipedia talk:Arbitration/Requests#"Assoles". No response from you is needed since it isn't that big of a deal but I did want to let you know that it has been brought up as a potential problem going forward at AE.Cptnono (talk) 06:00, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Squamish language: "7" character

[edit]

Hi, Seb. I noticed that in August 2011 you added a footnote to the Squamish language article saying that U+E097 (57495 in decimal) is the proper character for the glottal stop in Squamish orthography. I'm curious about where that is defined, because it's not in the Unicode standard—the character U+E097 is part of the private use area E000–F8FF, and the characters in that block do not have official meanings assigned by the Unicode Consortium. Can you provide a reference to show that there is some kind of unofficial agreement about the character U+E097? —Bkell (talk) 07:05, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

it's defined in Aboriginal Unicode Serif and Aboriginal Unicode Sans. I don't think there's a reference for it, but I can look. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 10:02, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
