Hello Sean. Thanks for pointing that out, I was wondering why people were putting question marks there for no reason. Now I see it was my computer doing it.

Water under the bridge

[edit]

Just FYI, since no one closes the darn thing I closed it myself. Thanks again for all your help and patience with a bold noob Renmiri 04:00, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A watered-down version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you knidly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much. Loom91 11:48, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The absent scholar?

[edit]

Hey, just wondering where and how you've been lately. I haven't seen many edits from you on the the FF project in the past few months. I haven't done much myself as of late either, but we've now got some avid contributors, including the reference-master Ryu Kaze who has done a great job. It also seems we've gone plumb good article crazy. I just hope I can stay sane enough in the next few weeks (finals) to get some needed tasks complete. Well, I'm not sure what working and studying too hard are to you, but take it easy anyway. See ya, Sean. ~ Hibana 01:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

How've you been, Sean? You still come around? It's been a while since I've seen you. Hope everything's going well. By the way, we got Final Fantasy X to Featured Article status! It was a hell of a ride. Wish you could have been there. Ryu Kaze 12:24, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Ff6jbox.gif

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ff6jbox.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vic Vipr TC 23:57, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back! Long time no see! — Deckiller 06:18, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

[edit]

You're the first person to pay any attention to the messes of the various character class articles that I haven't begged to do so in a long time. I've asked for help with it ever since most of the people who had worked on the sub-project disappeared and I keep getting ignored in favor of other discussion. I'm really glad someone else is paying some attention. So, thanks. :) -RaCha'ar 03:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Final Fantasy page renames

[edit]

Heh, right after I posted a subject about it in the WPFF talk page I see that you left a note to Axem Titanium about the same issue. Since you've noticed it and didn't agree with it, much as I did, maybe you'd like to join the beginning of the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy#Page renames and weigh in there? Thanks. :) -RaCha'ar 04:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good job getting the launch titles inline in the two NES articles. I think that works out best. I noticed you threw in a citation-needed tag — the information is corroborated by Nintendo's own database (at www.nintendo.com of course). Not sure if it's really necessary to cite that, but I leave it to your discretion.

And when it comes to the Moby links and similar material, I definitely see your point of view. But I also have sympathy for the majority of video game article editors, who clearly love their Moby links :) Wikipedia, in my view, deserves to be supplemented with references that encourage further exploration — in the case of a video game, what better way to explore than by poring over screenshots and maps? We obviously can't provide or link to ROM files, and I sort of see the screenies and maps as the next best thing. A good encyclopedia should make its subject matter come alive as best it can, no? As far as copyright, I'd say that practical precedent clearly shows the game maps to be fair use. Do you really think MobyGames is in violation of copyright? How could such a prominent site escape the consequences of that? So assuming MobyGames' extensive screenshot galleries qualify as fair use, how could the video game maps be in violation? After all, they're just large numbers of screenshots placed side by side. Anyway, it's not a huge deal either way, just sharing my point of view :) I am interested in a response to these questions, though. --Ecksemmess 14:22, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, one more quick thing. This is a clear indication that I'm right ;) Take a look at Final Fantasy X. It's a featured article, and clearly, hours of work from cream-of-the-crop editors went into it, right? Well, take a look at the external links section... huh! A prominently featured link to a strategy guide at StrategyWiki... hmm... game maps make great strategy guides :) --Ecksemmess 14:38, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your thoughtful responses to the questions raised here. You certainly have good points about the contextualization issues. And yes, I agree that the StrategyWiki isn't quite the same thing as the game maps. I understand your reluctance to just drop the reader into a reference that presents itself as essentially a loose pile of information. I will always maintain that pointers to such loose piles of information are still likely to be helpful and interesting to a great many readers, and it doesn't sound like you disagree; the issue therefore becomes, if you ask me, a style concern. I have to agree that, in an abstract sense, it's "cleaner" in a sort of aesthetic sense not to have a decontextualized link, such as to the game maps. That's why I think it's truly a tricky issue. So hopefully we can reach a friendly stalemate here by agreeing that there are definite advantages and disadvantages to each side of the coin. I'll make sure I don't add the game map links to any more articles. --Ecksemmess 23:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I saw you uploaded the image of the Wonderswan release that never happened, and was wondering if you had a source, since I want to get this article to GA status. Could you label it? Judgesurreal777 17:40, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My wikitable

[edit]

What is wrong with it? Why are my sections messed up?--SGCommand (talkcontribs) 19:17, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Final Fantasy designers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:List of Final Fantasy designers. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Untagged image

[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:Virginia state seal.png, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 03:02, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
