Iris Murdoch

[edit]

Could you or someone else maybe upload a picture of Iris Murdoch. I noticed you edited her wiki page. The pictures of her in her 20s and 30s are not copyrighted any longer.

Are you sure? Doesn't it depend on the date of death of the photographer? Seaaron 15:46, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

August 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although we invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Owen Wister, was not constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 14:36, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is a totally baseless attack. I made a good edit and you reverted it with totally spurious and empty allegations that it was vandalism. Please see Wikipedia:Assume good faith, Wikipedia:Civility, and Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Seaaron 20:41, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Your edit consisted of two lines, one of which changed [[Category:Western writers|Wister, Owen]] to [[Category:Western writers|Mister, Owen]]. See for your self: [1]. Since the the line was correct prior to your edit, and you had no edit summary to accompany your change, then you can see how this would have all the classic hallmarks of a case of subtle vandalism, and I was well within my rights to reverse it. I like to think that it was a mistake on your part, but since you responded with aggression rather then examining the circumstances, I really cannot assume good faith. Feel free to report me to anybody you wish, I think the facts speak for themselves. Have a good day. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 22:09, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
