Speedy deletion nomination of A. P. W. Makepeace
[edit]A tag has been placed on A. P. W. Makepeace requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of A.R. Lang
[edit]A tag has been placed on A.R. Lang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

[edit]Dear friend,
I did NOT delete the page. I just tagged it for Speedy deletion. Still you are perhaps right in calling me a deleter - most of my work on Wikipedia is patrolling new pages and recent changes and I tag the pages that I think comply with the speedy deletion policy. And any administrator (I am not one) who thinks I am right can get it deleted. But please understand that I am doing this with the intention of doing good for Wikipedia. I did not tag the A.R. Lang page for notability - I tagged it for insufficient context. As far as I can remember, the entire article contained one line and I did not feel it was adequate to even identify the subject of the article. Even if you had added the fact that Mr. Lang is known for his contributions to crystallography and added a reference for the same, the page would not have been deleted.
So please recreate the article. Add at least a paragraph of information and give one or two references. I cannot reinstate the article as I am not an administrator. A good way to do this would be to first create the article in your userspace as User:Scrumpo/A.R. Lang. Once there is enough material and references, you could move it to the main namespace as A.R. Lang and nobody is going to even think of deleting it. I am really sorry if I have caused you any trouble and would like to make up for that by trying my best to help you in doing this. Please follow the procedure that I have explained and ask me for any help you need. I would be glad to learn about Lang and his work from the page you create.
Best wishes
