IVCF Changes
[edit]You've made a number of changes on the subject page. What is your reference to all these changes? I assume its IVCF.org, but you do not state anything. If not their home page, then where are you getting these numbers. Ckruschke (talk) 16:30, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Ckruschke
- Your assumption is correct. The actual source page is http://www.intervarsity.org/about/our/vital-statistics. Scribe51 (talk) 02:00, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ok just wanted to make sure before I reverted your changes as "needing a source". Are you an current/ex-IVer? Ckruschke (talk) 15:51, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Ckruschke
Yes, I am a current employee and I'm trying to make sure the numbers are current. Scribe51 (talk) 22:55, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well good for you! I was in IV for 6 years at SoDak Sch of Mines and Tech and the Univ of North Dakota starting in 1990. Owe alot to IV... Ckruschke (talk) 19:07, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Ckruschke
Hey, that's fantastic news. I've written a number of alumni profiles and it's always interesting to learn how God has led people through InterVarsity and then on to some mission in life. What are you doing these days?
- I'm a civil servant and work for the USAF doing construction projects. We currently live in Dayton, OH, attend a Calvary Chapel church, and I work at Wright-Patterson AFB. Ckruschke (talk) 16:35, 24 October 2012 (UTC)Ckruschke
Glad to hear it. We have staff on a lot of campuses in Ohio and these are exciting days in campus ministry (as you can read on our Wikepedia entry). Latest exciting news, an InterVarsity alum and current board member was just selected as president of the University of Cincinnati: Santa Ono. I hope you will consider continuing to support InterVarsity as alumnus (if you don't already). We need the support to keep our ministry expanding.
- My wife have for some time been financially and prayerfully supporting the staff worker at my undergraduate college, friends of ours who just came on staff, a friend of ours who is an area director, and the local staff worker at whatever city we live. Some are called to go out and others are called to support those who go out! Ckruschke (talk)Ckruschke
I am encouraged to know that you are still staying involved with InterVarsity's ministry on campus. Thank you so much. I know those you support are greatly appreciative, as am I. The progress we are making is because of people like you!!!
Dear friend, recently someone added some malicious information to the InterVarsity listing. I deleted several paragraphs of material. This was posted by someone who apparently had a theological issue with InterVarsity based on their Reformed Theology. I suspect we may confront this issue again because of leadership controversies that have occurred on several campuses. Is there a best practices for dealing with malicious material?
Also, this same person, or perhaps someone else, has placed an eroneous logo on our listing. The logo currently in place is actually an InterVarsity Canada logo. I would like to replace it with the correct logo but I don't see how to edit that section of our listing. Can you help? Thanks! Scribe51 (talk) 21:38, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
OK, figured out how to change the logo. Any further advice on dealing with malicious content still appreciated. Scribe51 (talk) 21:57, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:InterVarsityphoto-Urbana12.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:InterVarsityphoto-Urbana12.jpg, which you've sourced to https://urbana.org/urbana-12/photos. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 01:46, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Scribe51. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Scribe51~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Orphaned non-free image File:InterVarsity Christian Fellowship-USA logo.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:InterVarsity Christian Fellowship-USA logo.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:35, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Did I incorrectly classify the image? I wanted to replace an outdated logo with a current logo. Scribe51~enwiki (talk) 13:09, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:InterVarsity Press logo New 2019.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:InterVarsity Press logo New 2019.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
