Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am respectfully asking to be unblocked. I violated the Wiki rules by using a username against wiki standards, and I am now versed at why I was blocked. This new name fits my needs and will remain professional and detached. I have never received any compensation, financial or otherwise for the written content on this page. I wish to have my page published and continue to edit and create an informative and fair page of reference. I will continue to move carefully through the site, editing and sharing relevant and helpful info. I will be careful to read and follow the guidelines in an appropriate and honest way. Thank you for hearing me out and considering my plea.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it only addresses part of the reason for your block (the violation of the username policy). Please familiarise yourself with the notability policy, too, before requesting to be unblocked again. Salvio 19:04, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have a common misconception of Wikipedia; Wikipedia is not for merely providing information. This is an encyclopedia, where article subjects(bands, in this case) must be shown with significant coverage in independent reliable sources showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable band. How did you come to write about this band? 331dot (talk) 07:06, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How I came to write about The Screaming Bloody Marys

[edit]

Hi 331dot, I came to write about The Screaming Bloody Marys because they were the one punk band I missed seeing live on more than one occasion. I became a follower and fan when they hit the Seattle punk/rock scene in the 90's. The degrees of involvement with SBM members and relevant punk scene happenings has always fascinated me. I have knowledge to share and I hold the wiki tool in high regard for accuracy and reliability.

Appealing to someone to speak to me and help me understand what I can do properly to be apart of this community

[edit]

Hi everyone, I appealed to block and requested a name change. I am looking for a way to become a member of the wiki editors. I very much love the band The Screaming Bloody Marys and all the influence and connections in the 80's and 90's punk scene. I feel most people on here want to be friendly and helpful, but I am confused as to how I can go forward and make this right. I need someone to speak to me and direct me. I have read and corrected what I felt was wrong, yet I am still in the dark. Please someone reach out and help me.

You may make another unblock request, addressing the point made by the reviewer of your last request, perhaps explaining how the band meets the definition of a notable band. 331dot (talk) 08:28, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The screaming Bloody Marys are mentioned on several wiki pages, such as Johnny Thunders, The Dwarves, Sympathy for the Record Industry,The Dead Kennedys and more.

Hopefully I have addressed all my Unblocking concerns for the editor

Request reason:

Hello team! I made the mistake of starting a Wiki account about two years ago with the user name THE SCREAMING BLOODY MARYS, which was the subject I was choosing to write about. I didn't properly look into how to start a wiki at the time and due to some very overwhelming circumstances in my personal life, the account lay dormant for about two years. Now I am back to writing and trying to support the punk music scene like I had originally hoped to do. One of my favorite punk bands, I never saw live was THE SCREAMING BLOODY MARYS. They are a notable band to me and so many in the Bay Area of California punk scene, because of the incredible roster of members they have had, as well as the varied and interesting life by the sole remaining, founding member Dave Dalton. THE SCREAMING BLOODY MARYS started the label DIE LAUGHING RECORDS which has such signed acts now as Michael Des Barres, East Bay Ray from The Dead Kennedys and a Johnny Thunders live project with his estate and Sam McBride and FANG. All of the artists I mentioned have played and recorded with SBM, and in addiction SBM has shared the stage with Nirvana, Hole, Jimmy Crucifix, The Moans, The Dwarves, L7, and so many more. The sole remaining founding member Dave Dalton Is the CEO of Die Laughing Records and mentioned in many books and publications on punk music and biographies on Johnny Thunders, The Dwarves and is also a member of the exclusive Zemaities guitar club with the likes of Eric Clapton and Ron wood. I love the band SBM, and would be so thrilled to undo this ban and have my wiki published so it could be a useful point of reference and growing catalog of something worthy to our punk scene. I welcome any input on how to to go forward and I hope this wiki can be un blocked and published. I addition, I did request a name change in prior unblock requests, to Lashed47, but the editors have also asked me to address notability. Please let me know if we can have the name change as wells the page published, it means a lot to me, on a personal level. There is no promotion or monetary gain involved, just a passion for something worthy that I love. Screaming Bloody Marys (talk) 19:14, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 11:48, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

DO you have any reliable sources that prove the notability? The only source you provided in your draft was a Wordpress which is definitely not reliable. only (talk) 19:43, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
