If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pa O'Driscoll requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 22:58, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Councillor articles

[edit]

Hi there, welcome to wikipedia. I note you have been creating articles for local councillors who are candidates in the forthcoming general election. Would you please stop doing this? There are guidelines here on WP:Notability for politians (WP:Politician), and these people don't meet them. Local counicllors are not automatically notable, and being a general election candidate does not make a person notable either. Only those elected to a national parliament are automatically notable. For a local councillor to be notable, they would have to have significant national coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article, see Luke 'Ming' Flanagan for an example of this. There are around 1,600 local councillors in Ireland, and the vast majority fail wikipedia notability guidelines. Regards, Snappy (talk) 20:55, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Again to re-iterate the two article you have created do not fulfill the requirements for being notable. Both of them have been nominated for deletion. Exiledone (talk) 00:19, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
