Hello!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to the category of reference-adding Wikipedia editors. There are some conventions that you'll learn if you stay around. (If not, I'll understand. I was on Wikipedia under ten minutes when an Admin kicked off an edit war with an implied criminal accusation. But that's a different story.) The first is to sign your comments on talk pages with four tildas. There are many, many others. I'm not sure if anyone knows them all.

One other thing that might become relevant is the 3RR rule, although that too isn't practiced by all Wikipedians. BitterGrey (talk) 23:50, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Era style

[edit]

Please review WP:ERA and don't change BCE/CE to BC/AD again. --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 17:07, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

BC and AD are the appropriate designation of what our calender is based on, the birth of Christ. in ENGLISH, AMERICA, this would be the proper term. i would encourage you to switch to a non Christ centered date method if you prefer. however, because this is 2010 AD, approx 2,010 years after the birth of Christ, this is the correct terminology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scoobertjoo (talkcontribs)

Hi, Scoobertjoo. I think you may not have realised that the Wikipedia Manual of Style calls for us to not change from one style to another unless there is substantial reason for the change, and consensus for the change with other editors. See WP:ERA. This means before you make any changes to these terms, you need to get consensus for the change on the talk page of the article. It does not actually matter that you live in America. I live in Canada, and people all over the world edit and use Wikipedia daily. Regards, --Diannaa (Talk) 19:50, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 19:30, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You've skated under the radar since you first came on board 15 months ago, but now you've caught some attention - especially your obvious anti-Jewish rant, which turned on the lightbulb here as I saw your name essentially means "Dog Jew". That is unacceptable, and I've reported you for it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:18, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
