Thanks
Thanks a lot! I've been trying my best to do things right... I'm working on improving my judgment for certain articles and figuring out exactly whats good and whats bad.... its somewhat of a trial and error thing because the WP policies don't cover ALL situations and I don't have them all memorized but I'm working on it. Thanks againKatanada (talk) 17:00, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar:-) You're doing a better job fighting vandalism actually. You have been beating me to reverts, and in some cases when you beat me, I beat you to warning the vandals. Have a nice day, and please keep up the great work:-)--SJP (talk) 05:15, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- You're welcome. To let you know the truth, I am actually not using any software when I revert, although I might get some in the future. SchfiftyThree 05:17, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry
Is it an an editor? Is it an admin? No, its The Huggle-Man!
- Don't worry Schfifty-me-laddie, your time will come. Its gotten so bad that we're practically tripping over each other, reverting the reverts :) Vishnava talk 22:08, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- That was just my opinion after being beaten a lot. One of the reasons why I might have said that was because I'm not using software yet. Let's say an anonymous user replaced the Boston Red Sox page with something inappropriate that a bunch of users will try to revert. I kind of felt lucky that time, which was yesterday, and I reverted it (97,396 characters)! It's not you at all, but I do my best. -- SchfiftyThree 22:15, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well I have my own trouble keeping ahead of ClueBot - I usually just bypass page blankings, as the bot gets to them within 0.025 seconds of my pushing the button :) Vishnava talk 22:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- I usually miss them, too, but there are some times when it sits out for a while. That's a good time to revert page blanks, as I did on the General Motors page on Wednesday. I bet that some other users are stressed out after being beaten by ClueBot multiple times. My own opinion now is that we should cooperate here on Wikipedia and take turns at vandalism reverting instead of continuously doing it for over an hour. I typed the message on my userpage to express my feelings at that time. I actually was quite lucky yesterday :-) -- SchfiftyThree 22:28, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

- Not every revert is correct sometimes. Everyone makes mistakes. ;-) SchfiftyThree 18:46, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well it wasn't a mistake really - removal of data w/o explanation is after all the first sign of vandalism. I have duly apologized of course. The para seemed suspicious, so I checked the history and found the copyvio link. Vishnava talk 18:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing my botched revert to Gerald Ford. Due to a computer glitch (interruption of my ISP), this got truncated in mid-transfer. By the time I got back online, you had already restored the full article. Again, thanks JGHowes talk - 01:00, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I never knew about that tool, thanks for recommending it to me. I will continue to fight vandalism on Wikipedia but I'm afraid I haven't done it long enough for them to approve of my request. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnivekk (talk • contribs) 01:15, 3 July 2008

WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:42, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

A Tree Full of Secrets
This isn't a biggie, but I notice you copied the article called A Treeful of Secrets to A Tree Full of Secrets rather than renaming the page. Renaming is recommended because the talk page does not become lost. On this particular article, all the talk page has is a project infobox, which you should probably copy to your new article. But I wonder why this change was made. The title is surely based on A Saucerful of Secrets and so I would think the original title makes more sense. The original article said "Treeful" is often mistakenly written as "Tree Full", and you removed this rather than revising this reference to a disagreement over the title. Maybe an attempt should have been made to ask for consensus on the talk page before making this change. BTW, I have no connection to the "album" and don't even have it, as I don't do music downloading. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 04:05, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- I did not actually intend to do that; I was just watching what happened, and ClueBot reverted that IP user. It wasn't my intention to move the page at all. I just thought ClueBot made a mistake, and then proceeded. SchfiftyThree 17:23, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies, I presumed you and the IP were the same person. Thinking about it again, I am going to revert the Treeful page, and also question whehter it should be on WP at all, on the talk page. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 17:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

- I'm just really annoyed right now, because that program has gotten so popular; my Wikimood's not bright. SchfiftyThree 19:48, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's pretty popular all right, but all the people who use it started reverting vandalism manually using Special:RecentChanges and then got approved for Huggle. Don't worry about how many edits you make or how much vandalism you revert. Every piece of vandalism you remove helps make Wikipedia better. A way to help get more reverts is to go for the smaller changes instead of the larger ones. Often, those are missed. Thingg⊕⊗ 19:59, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

- Yes you do, unfortunately. What operating system do you have? J.delanoygabsadds 20:10, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- I use many different computers. Sometimes I use an XP (using right now, but doesn't have enough disk space for Framework 2.0), and sometimes I use a laptop (I tried to download Framework 2.0 on there, but the first time it didn't work). Maybe if I get Huggle and start using it, I'll be WAY happier. SchfiftyThree 20:12, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

←You should be able to use the NET 2.0 framework on Windows XP. I don't know if you want to try it again, but here is the link to the download. - (e/c) SWEEEEEETTT!!! Just be sure to take it slow for the first few days until you get used to it, and always, always pay attention. I cannot emphasize this enough. It is far better to let someone else "get the revert" than to make an erroneous revert. J.delanoygabsadds 20:52, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Fast reverting
Huggle doesn't use the recent changes page located in the menu, rather it uses an IRC feed which is updated directly whenever anyone makes a change to Wikipedia. That means there is next to zero time between the edit being made, and the edit showing up in Huggle. With Huggle's hotkeys, its very easy to press a single key and have it be sent back to the server marking it vandalism. With big blocky text like that, you can identify it as vandalism text quickly. I'll make note of my time and see if I ever make a new personal record ;) tj9991 (talk) 04:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Question about reverting page moves
Is there a shortcut for that, or do you just click move and type in the last page title? I can't seem to find much on that at the CVU or the doc pages. Thanks! Protonk (talk) 00:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
