Peer review of Recycling
Hi there. I found your name on the peer review volunteers page, and wondered if you might have time/inkling to review the Recycling article. I've recently expanded it considerably, and interested mostly in feedback on POV balance. Thanks! --jwandersTalk 15:58, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Picture
First off, none of the pictures are horrible. :) The lighting on all of the alternatives is much improved; personally I think the lighting on this one is the best of all of them. A less close-up view (not cutting any of the books off) would be better and more encyclopedic, IMO. I'm just not sure they have the "wow" factor that would make them FP-worthy. Have you tried nominating them on Commons? (Hope this helps; I'm not a photographer myself). CillaИ ♦ XC 19:05, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I can't lay full claim to those 12 images; I didn't create them, I just Photoshopped 'em. :) CillaИ ♦ XC 19:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Banquo
I've been waiting a long time for a review. Could you put it on hold instead so I don't have to wait again? I'm pretty quick on the uptake. I've done more on articles like this in less time. Wrad (talk) 22:16, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's not really going to work. I need you to respond to messages I put on it's talk page. Such as the one I just put up, so that I can see exactly where you're coming from. I don't think you know exactly how little critics care about Banquo... Wrad (talk) 23:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you copy-edit Homerun (film).
I just finished rewriting Homerun (film) and will soon nominate it for GA status. However, the article needs a copy-edit. Awadewit told me you are a good copy-editor of film articles. Could you help me copy-edit Homerun (film)? --J.L.W.S. The Special One (talk) 03:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I love the smell of pine trees in the morning
Scartol, I swear I haven't been stalking your user page to see when the language genius is "in" (*shifty eyes*), but if you're currently looking for projects to add to the very bottom of your to-do list, I may have something to offer. Are you the outdoorsy type? Do you enjoy taking 40 mile hikes every day? Do you make a killer Cheeseburger in a Can? If your answer is YES, then Bob Marshall (wilderness activist) may be the article for you! I'm still toiling away on it, but I should be done by the weekend. It won't be nearly as time consuming or labor intensive as our old friend Emily was, so it should be an easier read. Plus, this guy was pretty cool, IMO. Daily 40 mile hikes! No joke.
Oh, and although I have never personally tried the Cheeseburger in a Can, my boyfriend, who was a cub scout, boy scout, eagle scout, etc, swears that they taste great when you're dehydrated, starving, exhausted, sweaty, filthy and on the brink of death. Yum. :) María (habla conmigo) 13:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Will do! Thanks so much. :) María (habla conmigo) 16:05, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ahead of schedule, but I think it's pretty much ready for review. I have to add a few more refs to back up a couple claims, and I'm waiting for a response regarding some copyrighted images, but it's nearly there. I was considering putting the article up for GAN, as well, so should I wait until you're finished or go ahead and list it? María (habla conmigo) 15:39, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, I'll just wait until you've gone through it. I'll probably be sitting there for a while, so what's a couple more days? María (habla conmigo) 16:10, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Sure, the images look fine. I had it down with the refs originally because the "Legacy" section was much smaller before and it looked cramped, but it's much better now. Take your time, no rush. María (habla conmigo) 17:58, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Peer review idea
Hi, I have made a proposal that no peer review request be archived without some response. To aid in this, there is a new list of PR requests at least one week old that have had no repsonses beyond a semi-automated peer review. This list is at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog.
There are just over 100 names on the PR volunteers page, so I figure if each of these volunteers reviewed just one or two PR requests without a response from the list each month, it would easily take care of the "no response" backlog (as there have been 2 or 3 such unanswered requests a day on average).
If you would be able to help out with a review or two a month from the "no responses" backlog list that would be great (and much appreciated). Please discuss questions, comments, or ideas at the PR talk page and thanks in advance for your help, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 23:57, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey
Thanks for the checking in on my talk page.

Hey B.F! :)
Hi Scartol,
I'll still be away for a few days yet, but I thought I'd drop you a little note to say hey. :) Much of the work here is done, but there's still the thorny matter of bridesmaid dresses. Our initial set of choices were pretty nice, but the bridesmaids are all quite different sizes, which unfortunately don't seem to be all available. I was tempted to offer to sew them for everyone, but I bit my tongue, since I know they'd turn out inadequately and it'd be stressful for everyone.
As a little holiday, my sister took me yesterday to see the film, Penelope, which I've been dying to see for nearly two years. It was even better than I imagined, more complex and interesting, although I daresay it won't be everyone's cup of tea. There was a nice horticultural moment when she recognizes a Helleborus orientalis, which I also have growing in my garden. :) It would've been nice if the movie had shown her working more with plants, though.
I roasted a chicken dinner for us and made soup from the giblets and bones. I saved the wishbone for our nieces, and was cleaning it when my sister came in, who wanted to pull it, since she had something to wish for. I let her choose her favourite half, but unfortunately it broke towards me and my sister looked crestfallen. :( But then I wished that my sister get her wish, and all was well. :) In the evenings, I'm knitting her a pair of socks that I think she'll like. This is the dappled sunshine of our little lives, and here's hoping yours is every bit as nice and cheery, Willow (talk) 14:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Edit War
Hi,
I'm contacting you because you were nice enough to contact me when I joined the organized labor portal. I'm wondering how the community should respond to the edit war happening with CNA, SEIU and Union Busting pages right now. It looks like the main operator is user Checkmate000, and that he/she is using Wikipedia to grind a partisan, pro-SEIU, anti-CNA axe. As someone with ties to some of the controversy, I don't think I ought to be policing these articles, but I think the wikipedia labor community would be interested in this.
Let me know if you want examples.
Thanks.

Copy edit referral
User:Collectonian recommended you to me to Copy edit Degrassi: The Next Generation. She said you've helped her before, and to ask you for help with this. Peer Review Reminder
Hi,
You offered to write a peer review for Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador and you said if you haven't done it by Friday then I should remind you... so here I am. Another editor has already reviewed it but other opinions are appreciated. Thanks for your time. ~NeonFire372~ (talk) 13:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I just read the review and I'll look into some of the stuff next week when I have time to do larger revisions. Thanks! ~NeonFire372~ (talk) 00:36, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
...has been passed. Just one thing I had a question on, but not enough to put on hold. See talk page. Cheers, --Kakofonous (talk) 02:20, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Scartol. I've been debating sources with the anon IP. My view is that both sets of sources seem credible enough. Until one is proven categorically incorrect, we need to list both POV's - as POV, not fact. The IP believes he holds the one version of the truth. Do you have anything to add? To complicate matters, Angkasa is in Indonesian. Further, I change the anon IP's assertion of 250 Fretlin deaths to the 122 listed. Further, he thinks I'm anti-Indonesia ;-) .
Hope you can help, cast some light, or suggest something. If you don't want to get sucked in to argument, off wiki is fine by me too. --Merbabu (talk) 02:37, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Great - have a look when you can. With this editor, a little time might be an asset, if you know what I mean. --Merbabu (talk) 11:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Copyedit
Sorry not to get back to you. I still want to work on the article, but go ahead and do a copy edit anyway. Oh - I see you've done it. nice. --Merbabu (talk) 12:03, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, there is considerable info I'd like to add. Much is from Schwartz. There was a bit from Jardine too. However, It's been slow mainly because I've found it hard to fit these in smoothly due to the article's existing written style. But, I think the best thing is to focus on getting the info in first, and then work on smoothing prose and fit, etc. By the way, a very interesting read is Jamsheed Marker's memoir on East Timor. I just read it but had to return it to the library before I could use it on the article. Like Schwartz, he is very matter of fact in style. --Merbabu (talk) 12:33, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- PS - nah, I don't have such demographic data that you suggested. Sorry --Merbabu (talk) 12:43, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Help needed, please :)
Hey Scartol,
For better or worse, I've thrown myself into saving action potential from being delisted as a Featured Article and I'll need help with the prose and making sure everything is intelligible to the lay-person. You have such a rich and gripping writing style; if I ever needed some of your mojo, it would be now. Can you help me with the prose? I promise not to bother you too much. ;) Thanks muchly! :) Willow (talk) 22:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Image deletion? Torture in East Timor 1995
Hi - an image I think you contributed to Wikicommons and being used in the Indonesian invasion of East Timor has been nominated for deletion.[[1]] and [[2]] I don't know how these things operate - maybe you have already been notified? Would like to see this image available for continued use. If I can be of assistance let me know. SmithBlue (talk) 13:24, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Degrassi peer review
Thanks for the review you did here. I just have two questions to two points you raised:
- The third paragraph in "Main roles" is another list. Is this information really necessary? How about picking three of the most prominent characters, and discussing their roles and the actors who play them in greater depth?
- The problem with that is it's a truely ensemble cast, and where as Lost, which is also an ensemble show focusses on Jack, Kate and Locke nearly every episode, Degrassi characters only prominently feature in one or two episodes per season and appear as background characters in another two or three. So I just removed the para-list completely.
and
- Why are the notes in a box? I'd much rather see them as a normal part of the article, like every other page.
- This was a suggestion made as part of PeterSymonds's peer review, as the ref list is extremely long.
If you could follow this up with responses, I'd appreciate it greatly. Everything else you raised I addressed. You can reply here or on my talk page if you want, as I didn't reply at the peer review. Thanks, -- ṃ•α•Ł•ṭ•ʰ•Ə•Щ• @ 00:07, 29 March, 2008
