Banana Tree
Banana Tree are a chain of Indochinese restaurants found in the United Kingdom. The first Banana Tree restaurant was opened in Maida Vale in 1991 under the name ‘Street Hawker’. The restaurant was re-opened under the name ‘Banana Leaf Canteen’ in 2000, however due to a conflict in copyright with a Hong Kong company, the chain was renamed ‘Banana Tree’.
Indochinese Cuisine
Indochina is a region in South East Asia which lies roughly East of India and South of China, and comprises of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. These countries use common ingredients such as lemongrass, coconut, galangal, fish sauce and coriander in their cooking.

- Winner of R200 Best Value Restaurant Chain 2012 - Winner of London Restaurant Festival “Best Lunch Menu under £10” 2013 - Nominated for Milton Keynes Food Award “Best Restaurant 2016”

Charity commitments
As well as supporting local charities and schools’ fundraising events near each restaurant, Banana Tree have been involved with two main charity organisations: - Raising over £30,000 since 2012 for Orangutan Appeal UK through donating 25p on all sales of Crispy Chicken in Mango Sweet Lime sauce, - Banana Tree have raised over £12,000 since 2013 for Action Against Hunger’s ‘Love Food Give Food’ campaign.
