That I.P. address that you messaged me from is located around New Hampshire in the US. But, that I.P. address that I wrote to is from Nova Scotia... Oh, I looked them both up, they're not that far away from each other, now it makes sense. Hooah. ScarianTalk 17:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate warning tag

- Hi Gsc., I believe the I.P. vandalised the G-Unit article once more after you reverted it, and another user reverted it. Did you know that? Or does one warning count for all of the users' vandalism on a page? Just thought I would check. Sorry if I did put it there by mistake. ScarianTalk 14:47, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

- -

Well, seeing as the user has only one contribution... but if he had done it again, you should have put it there. Also, I think the user is vandalizing from multiple ips, so that also may be part of the confusion. Gscshoyru 14:50, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

- -

You are right! :-) You know what, when looking at the I.P. address I only looked at the first four numbers (Which are the same as his other one) thinking it was the same I.P.. My apologies, eye sight must be going! ScarianTalk 14:56, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

- Hello Scarian, thanks for joining WikiProject Debating. From the very beginning, I noticed that people are working in a scattered way at debate related articles. Most of them are not keen on wiki editing and a large number of users are contributing being unregistered. That's why I took initiative to organize those articles under a wiki project and started WikiProject Debating. You may mark that I created each and every thing necessary for a formal wiki project, such as all the templates, quality table and so on. Now, we should start working and I believe that your contribution will make a difference here. Please invite your friends to join this project so that we can improve all the debate related articles very fast. Regards, -- Niaz bd 17:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

-

Actually when I started WikiProject debating, I randomly added assessment tag at few articles but a large number of debating articles are still untagged. Our first goal will be to tag all the debate related articles which will cover tournaments, club and debater articles. Once we'll be finished with this job, we can then go for improving those articles. But, we need more members to carry on all those activities. Do you have any plan/suggestion to encourage other people to join this project? Please let me know. Niaz(Talk • Contribution) 11:35, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

-

Thanks for your compliment. It took almost three days to prepare this project page. I tried my level best to compile this project as a professional one. Now it holds assessment table, project template, invitation template, userbox template and other stuff necessary for a wiki project. If you feel that anything else should be added, please let me know, I'll update it as soon as I can.

-

Actually, I randomly added that B-class tag at those articles and also agree that most of them even do not deserve to have a star-class tag on them. Just feel free to edit assessment tag where you think it is necessary.

harry potter 7 criticism

- - Actually, no I don't think it ought to be reduced. what I added was already maybe 1/10 the length King wrote in a quite thoughtfull piece. Considering the balance of the article as a whole, I would have said there was way too much description of the plot compared to discussion of what others have said about it. King is a noteable author in his own right, though I gather he is definitely a Rowling fan. But no one can say he does not understand what makes up successfull fiction. What this article needs is more comment from different noteable people, preferably making different points about the book. Some more trenchant criticism to balance king might be nice. I added him because I came across it. If I find others, I shall mention them too. I shall try and see if there was anything else others had added which I feel ought to be reinserted. Sandpiper 23:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

-

I think you will find that if you investigate the various guidelines on writing about fiction, it is recommended to soft-pedal description of the text and firmly hard-pedal including what others have said about a work. Now, I myself am rather on the side of including a robust plot description, but I do absolutely agree with the others that it is highly desireable to get as much sourced comment into articles about fiction as is possible. Sandpiper 23:41, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

-

Buddy, I don't care about the size of plot, I don't care about the plot. (It's late here and I just want to sleep but I can't because I love Wikipedia) I really only care about the size of King's quote... I read it myself and sure, I agree with you, it's not bad. But an irrelevant sentence or two could go to allow other writer's a chance - rather than clogging it up to allow King more space. Despite King's "authority" as a writer, other critics' opinions are just as valid, do you understand where I am coming from, friend? ScarianTalk 23:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

-

No, I dont. wiki is not paper: there is more than enough server space for the page to be considerably lengthened without stressing the system, but my point was that if cuts really are needed they should be better placed in the plot section than the critical reviews. This section is small. Considering the enormous hype about these books, very small. If you find other critics with something else to say, then I suggest you add them additionally. That is what the article needs. Sandpiper 23:58, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Tunguska Talk page reversals

- - (Original message)

- Hi friend, you recently undid an edit of mine... The edit I made is here: [1]. The edit you made is here (Reverting my removal with the edit summary: "it is not offtopic, this was in the news alright"): [2]. - Our perceptions of 'off-topic' differ, clearly. Article discussion pages are only for discussing the article - not the topic. Whilst what the user said may have been about the article, it had no context as to improving the article. Which, thus, makes it "off-topic". Do you understand? I apologise for this confusion. Furthermore, this particular user continues to leave posts on article discussion pages which are off-topic and admin's are aware of this. Once again, sorry for the confusion, I shall remove the said discussion again. Apologie's for any inconvenience. ScarianTalk 11:55, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

- -

Hey, the way I see it is that that person is posting relevant facts on a Talk page and expects other editors to incorporate them into the article. This is not offtopic, it is just a weird method of operation. That's exactly what Talk pages are for - discussion and remarks on the subject. His are the remarks. I will not reverse your removal again, but please do understand that your interpretation of 'offtopic' is overly strict and unconstructive. Alex Pankratov 17:16, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

- -

I'm not one for religiously citing Wikipedia guidelines but here is the guideline which supports my decision [3]. Also, as I said previously, the user in question has had an auspicious past with using discussion pages as a general discussion 'blog' (I have previously informed an admin of this whom agreed with my surmise). In reply to this: "...that that person is posting relevant facts on a Talk page and expects other editors to incorporate them into the article." - I could see no obvious hint as to his expectations.

-

I'm sorry we have had this 'disagreement' - of sorts, but I am doing as the guideline suggests. And, also, for the record - please don't take this as a personal attack on yourself - it is the user whom started off the conversation in the first place that is in the wrong. Hooah. Have a nice day, friend. ScarianTalk 17:53, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding reverted edit to Talk:Pokémon_Diamond_and_Pearl

- - Just because I have included the word "noob" in the subject does not necessarily constitute the post as vandalism or spam. The word "noob" along with other internet slang does exist in the game. If this was not the reason of which you have reverted the edit, I am sorry for this message, however if not please explain your reason for the revert. Thank you. --218.214.47.219 08:20, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

- -

The edit you made, I believe, can be regarded as "off-topic". If it is not implied in the post that you are discussing improving the article then it becomes "off-topic". If you do not know already, article discussion pages are used for discussing the article and how to improve the article only, this does not include discussing the topic of which the article is based on. Hooah. ScarianTalk 09:57, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: Archive help!

It seems that Shadowbot3 (talk · contribs) has been trying to archive your page at User talk:Scarian/Archive {{Jul.}} {{2007}}, but that location cannot exist so all archived messages are only being removed from your talk page. Don't worry though, all messages remain in your talk page history, so there's no actual loss of data. I don't know how to correct the problem since I don't use a bot to archive, but I'm sure that Shadow1 (talk · contribs) would be able to take care of the problem. Cheers, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 11:05, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Not only is it allowed but it's a pretty common practice. Most users create a subpage, something like User:Scarian/barnstars, to catalog that stuff. Editors are given a lot of leeway in managing their userspace, you can have any number of subpages for various purposes. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:28, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

reply re: TP trolls

Your IP blogger is busy conversing across many talk pages. Problem is... article talk pages are for discussing the article... not for discussing the topic of article itself. The {talkpageheaders} on talk pages are pretty cut/dried about what can be discussed and what the rules are as far as what the talk pages aren't to be used for. Talk page trolling is common because so many "abuser/users" want to use Wiki for a soapbox. If someone blogs on a talk page about the subject and not the article... rm it and quote the talkpageheader in your edit summary. Abusive/personal attacks can be reported at wp:ani... although I never have any luck there myself. Good luck and have a nice day! 156.34.142.110 14:57, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Your Dover Beach tags are fine for specific lines. The entire article could also be tagged {{OR|article}} or {{tone}}. There is an IP addy that keeps adding a 'caveat' paragraph to the analysis section which is pure WP:ATT vio and can be turfed. I can't get over how much "<!-- HIDDEN -->" demandments there are in this article. Is there a WP:OWN vio happening there? Perhaps Alf would be a better advisor on this if there is that much dispute over it. The page could be semi-P'd if it's too much of a battlefield. No need to kill anyone. I am in too happy a mood... I am in hysterics over this little gem I am somehow linked with IP's that are 5000 kilometres away? The posting user thinks that somehow 3RR has been broken? I personally believe the user has some sort of WP:COI investment in the webpages he is attempting to add to Wikipedia. He has been blocked before for sock use so he should know what a "true" sock is. I've told Alf a dozen times... I do not watch television... who needs to?... there's WAY more entertainment right here on Wikipedia. Should some really really stupid Admin read the COI user's report and somehow my static IP gets blocked... watch my "usual haunts" for me would you please? Good luck in Dover! Have a nice day! 156.34.142.110 19:20, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

True, which is strange. Btw, I think I made a mistake on his [It could've been his or a friend's] other I.P. discussion page. I told him off for being 'racist' to another user... He made some comment's to User:DerHexer about him being German. I told this I.P. to stop being 'racist'. Is that incorrect? Or is there another word for someone making attacks on people of other nationalities? ScarianTalk 15:47, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Um... I honestly have no idea. I saw the comments, I know what you mean. But... I don't know what the term might be. It doesn't matter, he's still being a massive troll. Gscshoyru 15:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Album genre capitalization

Yes, heavy metal is the first genre, but it is not a proper noun and should therefore not be capitalized as "Heavy Metal". See WP:MUSTARD#Capitalization. I can see how the wording at WP:ALBUM#Details allowed for your interpretation, which is why I've now clarified it to "but the first word in the list should be". --PEJL 10:07, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello, yes that’s right I am a pupil of St. George of England I don’t see how any of the content that I posted is against any ones opinion it is simply giving information about St. George of England the content was not at all inappropriate and was only a way to get the school more known in the public view I am sorry you feel this way about this but would you re consider about getting this information back onto Wikipedia as I think this is a good way to promote St. George of England to the local area. Re: Formula 1 Times

Hi Scarian. Thanks for your message on my talk page. I'm happy with the current version of the article, which lists the 1986 Spanish GP as "one of the closest finishes"; I was just unhappy with the earlier version which described it as "the closest". Of course, I appreciate that even though the 1971 Italian Grand Prix is often/generally recognised as the closest finish (0.01 sec), the times were only measured to the nearest 0.01 second, so the gap was really somewhere between 0.005 sec and 0.0015 sec, so there is a possibility that it actually wasn't the closest. DH85868993 04:10, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Scarian. I have made reference to your edit here [4] please don't take this as a personal attack. I've seen this kind of thing happen quite a lot recently with people editing articles on subjects they don't really know enough about - I picked yours because it was recent and on an article on my watchlist that was changed today so it came to mind first. May I suggest in future that you leave the edit or flag it with a note on the talk page? That way someone who has the article on their watchlist can check the edit. Thanks. Alice Cooper

You left this note for me:

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. 156.34.215.109 20:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Stop being naughty, mister! (Or missus) ScarianTalk 21:50, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

--> I have read carefully the rules on contributing and, as you will see below, I have explained my rationale for the changes in the Alice Cooper page discussion forum (where, incidentally it has gone unanswered) - this is copied below:

I don't think the existing statements about his Christianity are accurate in that they portray his - Alice's - view or the point of view of one of his die-hard fans. Whether you think it is great or not he absolutely wears his religion on his sleeve and goes on about at at every available opportunity (but protests that he doesn't). This is worthy of comment, I think.71.168.143.252 18:29, 31 July 2007 (UTC) ENDS

Now, I'm actually a big Alice fan but the previous page text is simply opinion which, in my opinion, does not reflect the facts. The contribution I have made is not vandalism it is an improvement - or, at the very least, a reasonable contribution to the debate.

The fact that someone else disagrees appears to be an inherent part of the whole Wikipedia deal.

As my early contribution to the talk page shows I am happy to discuss the merits. I am less happy to be banned by people (page contributors and yourself) who have refused to engage on the merits of the case and simply deleted my - quite reasonable - changes.

Look forward to your reply. I'll place this text on the discussion page for Alice Cooper.

Thanks! :)

Hi,

That was a very friendly note, and it brightened my day immensely. The ambiguity of the term "flaming" is deliberate: I am both a vocal liberal, and an ardent supporter of LGBT causes. Though I'm not gay, I welcome the assumption that I am, particularly if it exposes homophobic biases in others (since I'm experienced at calmly handling vocal right-wingers, let them come to me if they wish to bother anyone.)

You're a very lucky person to be a leftist in the proper civilized world. Here in America, currently an intellectual backwater, a genuine love for peace and social justice is oftentimes an outlying position. I'm only at home in New England, Southern California, or Chicago -- any other place in this "super-sized" nation has too high a density of scary people. Many of my other political observations of the post-9/11 world are profanity-laden, and thus unfit for the wiki, but you are welcome to email. :)

I notice that you've only been here since May -- if you need any help with something, just let me know (excluding US political editing, that is... I'm well-aware that I'm too angry with that scoundrel to have anything to do with NPOV editing in that area.) Best wishes, Xoloz 15:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Erm

First of all I'm sorry if I offended you. I was making a general comment on a piece of policy and cited your edit because it was a fairly recent one on the topic. I'm not for a minute suggesting that you shouldn't amend a Formula 1 article if the edit is one you feel confident and competent to make. I notice for example you recently edited the Senna article again in that instance your edit improved the article. However the edit I was referring to changed a statement which was arguably correct to one which was clearly incorrect. You stated that this was done because the editor concerned was a vandal, you then tell me I should assume good faith - may I suggest you apply that advice to your own edits?

Also whilst we are on the subject of good faith this edit [5] seems to imply that you think I'm using Sock Puppet's - the first time I saw it I didn't say anything because there was no point inflaming what is already a tense discussion. If that wasn't your implication then I'm sorry but if it was then I will say categorically (a) I do not use Sock Puppets. (b) I am not a Sock Puppet. (c) I am well and truly fed up of the accusations. Kelpin 17:27, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough - I wasn't referring to any of your other posts when I referred to Socks - its a long story but just after I joined Wikipedia I got blocked for being a Sock (the person who filed the Sock report didn't name me in it, and even said afterwards that he knew I wasn't a Sock but the Admin decided I was so blocked me even though no one had complained about me and the evidence was circumstantial in the extreme). (There's a lot more to it than that but as I say its a long story!) Although that's been sorted now it seems whenever I get into an argument with anyone they bring up the fact that I've been blocked for being a sock and its getting a bit tiresome! Anyway hope we can put this argument behind us, you seem like you know your way round Wikipedia far better than I do. Having a good evening or morning (wherever you are in the World - I'm in the UK). Kelpin 18:33, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I live in Birmingham (so West Midlands county), I used to live in a small Warwickshire village. Where are you based? Kelpin 18:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I live in Edgbaston (which is part of Birmingham) but I work in Aston as a Financial Controller. The Villa ground is not far from my office in fact you can see it from the sandwich shop where I bought my lunch today! Kelpin 18:49, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Aston is a fairly large area of Birmingham (Aston Villa is only used to refer to the football club), it has Aston University, Aston Science Park, a train station and quite a few businesses. There is a Wiki page for Aston though not sure that its right about the University being in the City Centre I'd say its straddles the border between the City Centre and Aston myself! Nirvana

Hi,

WP:OWN issues can be a serious problem, although I don't know enough about the case to say certainly that they have happened here. To begin, compose a draft in userspace (say, at User:Scarian/Nirvana suggestions of the way you would like the article to read. You may cut-and-paste a copy of the present article into your userspace to begin. Also, explain why you wish to make the changes that you do on the talk page of your userspace subpage, User talk:Scarian/Nirvana suggestions. Remember that your suggestions are much more likely to gain support if you work from sources, of course. After you've done this, as a first step, I'll provide a neutral third-opinion on the changes you have in mind. Hopefully, the other editor will accept this gracefully; if bad things happen, we can work from there. Best wishes, Xoloz 23:57, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Got a minute?

When you get the chance could you review the Ben Bolt article. In my opinion it's broaching nn. It has been tagged in the past as an {advert}. There isn't 1 single citation anywhere to verify any of the information. Books published from Mel Bay Publications(a notable guitar oriented publishing company) do have books from the subject in their listings. But we do not have access to them at "my" library. The article is actually a word for for copy of the subjects own personal website bio. But I believe that may actually be "reverse copyvio" where the subject himself is editing his Wikipedia article and then copying it back to his own website. What do you think?... is it a {PROD}?.. is it an {AfD}?... am I being too picky? Thoughts? "Libs" 156.34.142.110 12:19, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick reply. You can go ahead and tag it to your hearts content. It needs it. But put it on your watchlist too as I believe the repeat IP that's been editing it is, in fact, Mr. Bolt himself. And he would likely sneak in and delete your tags when you weren't looking. An RCU for that IP and the Benbolt5 editor that's edited the article would likely reveal that they are the same person. It is leaning towards a glaring WP:COI vio. A {prod} is, for lack of anything, a start. {unref'd} {original research}, {copyvio}(maybe?)... all can be laid in on that one. I will not bother with an AfD for it since, as an IP mo matter how noble and perfect I am :D will be scrutinised and discarded. A invitation to review and comment could be requested of the Classical guitarists clique of the WikiProject guitarists? But whether that would yield any results I am not sure. I see that project's members editing all over the place... but as a project... none of them seem to talk to one another :D . Sir Alfred is on vacation and when he returns... he will likely want to just edit and not have to policy police... so for now I am just going to quell my inner "wiki-quality-peeve" and let it sit. 156.34.142.110 15:51, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Give him a 3RR warning and then report him for 6RR on the List of classical guitarists article and 3RR on his own article. 3RR reports are a royal pain in the ass... ROYAL!... Wiki should make it easier to do them...sigh! He can be reported to WP:COI too I expect. Obviously there is some sort of personal interest in this. I am about to flee for the day. Sunshine, lollipops and a 20 kilometre bike ride await... good luck with the Wik. Will check back in later on this eve or tomorrow morn. 156.34.142.110 19:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Copy vio

Hi, I noticed that in the AFD for Ben Bolt you alleged it was a copyvio. But you didn't say from where. The one example? It was copied *from* Wikipedia, thus not a copyvio. I don't think that's going to fly as a reason for deletion, but if you were thinking of some other site, perhaps you'd care to mention it? FrozenPurpleCube 21:25, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

It's not vandalism when you don't have anything to do with the article, thank you. Especially when the alleged copyvio is blantantly untrue. Really, the page it was claimed to be copyvio of? Was directly from Wikipedia. So don't give me a complaint about my actions, the tag was clearly mistaken. FrozenPurpleCube 22:26, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
PS, please see WP:CSD which clearly says "Any user who is not the creator of a page may remove a speedy tag from it." . FrozenPurpleCube 22:30, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, that's not necessarily true, but so what? It doesn't mean you were correct that it was a copy vio, or correct to criticize me for a completely appropriate action. You weren't, and if you can't show us what it's a copyvio from besides that one site, I'm going to ask you to strike that allegation from the AFD. I'm also going to ask you to strike your statement on my talk page. FrozenPurpleCube 22:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Um, yes? If you're talking about TenPoundHammer, that editor has retracted his claim, and to be honest, in my experience, TPH has been hasty and not as considered in examining situations as desirable. If you're talking about someone else, I don't know their names, there is nobody else in the AFD who has brought up copyvio as an issue. In any case, anybody can be wrong from time to time, which brings us back to the real point, you haven't identified where you believe this to be a copyvio from. Maybe you should just admit the mistake, rather than continue to make more. If you can show me where you claim this is a copyvio from, that'd mean something, but right now? All you're doing is convincing me your complaint was invalid. FrozenPurpleCube 14:58, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
What Slander? My opinion of his actions isn't slander. Slander is an entirely different concept, which goes along a different direction. And I've told TPH my concerns before, if it displeases TPH, then there's been an opportunity to say so. Instead, I think it's been taken as the good-natured and helpful advise it's been meant to be. Believe it or not, there is a place for criticism of people, and I don't see that there's anything wrong in the advise I've given him. OTOH, I do see that it's wrong of you to accuse me of vandalism when I remove an obviously inappropriate CSD tag. That's a far stronger word to use, and not at all helpful. If you don't believe me, perhaps you should solicit some opinions on WP:WQA. As for your link, thank you for finally providing a link to the material. However, I'm not convinced this is an irredeemable copyvio. I'm not even sure they didn't just copy the material from Wikipedia without due credit. It's not like the page hasn't been worked on since 2004. This is especially possible since the editor who did make the changes to make the page more like the page you're referring to is Ben Bolt, who may well have been the author of that material as well. While there are concerns about verification (an issue for OTRS, not us), and COI (which does bother me), a person does have the right to produce material in more than one place and license one under the GFDL. So as concerns go, I'm afraid Copyright violation *isn't* the big one here. Notability is far more pertinent concern. FrozenPurpleCube 16:38, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

"Notability is far more petinent concern" - Then why hassle me so much? ScarianTalk 18:23, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

What harassment? I'm replying to you in a discussion, which isn't even about the question of notability in this situation. I do believe it's important that people are accurate in their assessments of what is a copyvio, and I also think that it's important to deal with editors when you se a problem with their conduct. In response to the message you left on my talk page, I think you're dragging something on way out of proportion, accusing me of vandalism, and not even retracting your unfounded accusations against me. Consider that you could have simply not worried about the copyright issue, not accused me of vandalism, and just stuck to notability. Heck, at any time you could have withdrawn your accusation against me. But you haven't stricken it. You haven't even said "I'm sorry, that was a mistake" but instead, ignored that whole problem. Now you're coming at me with some argument that I'm harassing you. I'm sorry, but if you don't wish to continue a discussion, it behooves you not to continue to discuss it, rather than say you don't want to hear about it any more. Sorry, but I find that sort of action very troublesome. Really, do you not even see your responsibility here? I'm comfortable discussing it with you, if you're not, maybe you should ask somebody else for their input. I really hope you do give this situation an open and thoughtful examination and see what mistakes you might have made in the process. But hey, the instant you don't want to talk about this anymore? Take it in your hands, and stop writing replies. Though I do hope you will at least do like I asked and strike your unfounded accusation against me. FrozenPurpleCube 18:41, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Then I'm glad you've at least recognized your mistake, as the removal of CSD tags is appropriate for anyone who isn't the creator of the article, and I think it's highly unfortunate that you didn't understand how they were handle. Though I do think you may wish to reflect further on the situation, and your role in it, if you've at least learned a lesson about CSD, that's important enough. FrozenPurpleCube 19:07, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, you're not the first, or the only one (even in this conversation) to have problems with being told you're wrong. Sometimes we're right even when we're told we're wrong, but that's another matter. But nope, my name has nothing to do with Star Wars at all. The Manticore is actually a real creature from myths and legends, and I picked it more or less at random. Looking through a book for a usename, spotted a picture of one and said "Hey, I'll use that" . FrozenPurpleCube 01:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Your AIV report

Thank you for making a report about Standforthekaiser (talk · contribs · block log) at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. Sandstein 19:39, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Nirvana

Don't worry; mainly working on the article right now so it adheres to current Featured Article criteria. Basically it's just a straightforward way to work the bandmembers into the lead section, especially given they should be mentioned by name in the first few sentences of the article. Question... [Other than the one I'm just about to ask]

Hi friend, are you around? ScarianTalk 09:16, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Advice on "Not A Forum"

Hi - I need some advice, don't know if you can point in the right direction. There have been some highly speculative posts (most or all of which are libelous) on [7] all of which I think I've removed. However I strongly suspect that the number of these will increase in the next week with the Italian Grand Prix tomorrow and the FIA hearing next week. I've seen in the past a warning template to put on a talk page to say its not a forum, do you know how I could find out how to stick this on the page? Thanks. Kelpin 10:35, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks that's the one I was looking for - hopefully it will deter further speculation. Thanks. Kelpin 11:16, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
