Notability of Raj Kamdar

[edit]

The article Raj Kamdar has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for this specific type of article, you may want to check out our criterion for biographies. JohnCD (talk) 17:24, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rkjtc for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Biker Biker (talk) 14:39, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

WP:Notability in Wikipedia's sense is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought him significant enough to write substantial comment about? For more detail about what that means, see WP:42 and WP:Notability (people).
