Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Air India, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Do not add a tamil title to Air India. Tamil is the official language of only the state of Tamil Nadu and not the entire country. Abhishek191288 (talk) 14:26, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at SpiceJet. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Abhishek191288 (talk) 14:31, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Indian (airline), you may be blocked from editing. Abhishek191288 (talk) 14:32, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil

[edit]

Adding Tamil script to random articles is not vandalism; however, it is also not appropriate. This is the English Wikipedia, and other languages like Tamil should only be mentioned if the name is originally in the Tamil language (eg. Tamil Nadu). This is not the case for SpiceJet or any other Indian airline that I know of.

Likewise, the article dhoti should only mention the immediate source, namely Hindi, in the introduction. All other languages are trivia and belong elsewhere, or arguably nowhere at all (since they are not English names). Jpatokal (talk) 06:31, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As an an univolved editor, i would second that. We add non-english transcription in two cases a) for official languages b) and for non-english terms and names from another language. So please add a tamil transcription only for Tamil names and Tamil Nadu related articles.--Sodabottle (talk) 16:10, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
