I am not sure who you are but you are free to contact me at skmandal100@hotmail.com My name is Sanjay mandal and I happen to be from the Todar family. My family records are available and when I see so many incorrect facts it pains me. Sorry if it has hurt your content but I have listed correct facts as I happen to be a direct descendant
- Sanjay, even if you claim to be a direct descendant of Todar Mal, it doesn't make any difference here. Its been so many centuries in between, therefore there could be many branches and there are other families as well who claim to be direct descendants. But we have to follow our policies; any such claim has to be backed by reliable sources. You cannot add your statements, rather you need to cite some reliable author and the reference book, which mentions your claim. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 18:16, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Just to clarify the sources quoted in reference 2 3,4,5 are not authentic. Please remove them. There are no deviations in my family tree. There is only one mandal family in the whole of Punjab for the last 400 years. Any punjabi mandal is related to me and is from Todar mal family. Todar mal died in Lahore and all my relatives are from Punjab. My family tree is documented in Haridwar records that are recognised by govt. Todar mal was not an Agarwal. It would be completely misleading to source or quote references that are dubious. See the author and the publication and also language 'so and so believed' .
No descendant of Todar mal family is in Rajasthan. If you can trace or find even one ask him to show the family tree. I will soon be putting the family tree on the website and then the wiki page would not look nice. So it is my humble request not to place non credible reference as well. Thanks
- I had checked the sources. Jogendra Nath Bhattacharya and Dwarka Nath Gupta mention him as Agarwal, and the reports from 'The Hindu' and hindustantimes cited also say so. And I agree that these references are not enough to confirm that he was an Agarwal. Especially because there are other conflicting claims and sources supporting that he was a Khatri or a Kayastha. As per the policies of Wikipedia, we have to show all claims supported by such sources. If you have any such reference supporting your claim, you can mention here. Thanks.
