User talk:Sandaho
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Sandaho, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was User:Sandaho/sandbox, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:40, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for this information. I was under the impression I was creating/editing with the sandbox mode? Obviously not? can you confirm if the article has been inadvertently published pubicly? Many thanks. Sandaho (talk) 10:43, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Sandaho. I've added the above template because it appears that you might be working on a draft about either yourself or someone you may be somehow connected to. This template is usually used for existing Wikipedia articles (hence the way it's worded), but I've added it here because the information contained therein might also be of benefit to you. If that's the case, then I strongly suggest that you read this, this, this and this in addition to the pages mentioned above so as to familirize yourself with some Wikipedia policies and guidelines that might pertain to your specific situation. The more you understand about what you're trying to do, the less likely you're going to find yourself having problems trying to do it. Be especially careful with Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not because those two policies apply to all Wikipedia pages, not just articles.Your draft has not been "published" yet in the sense that it's already a Wikipedia article, but it's still publically visible as explained here. You can continue working on it, but you should submit it to WP:AFC for review instead of trying to upgrade it to article status yourself. You should also understand that if the draft is ultimately approved as an article, you will have no real editorial control over its content (i.e. no claim of ownership over the article) and it can be edited by others at anytime. The hope is that these "others" will do so in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but this isn't always the case or it may not be something you agree with even when it is. So, you're going to be expected (except in some specific situations) to avoid directly editing the article yourself and instead seek assistance from others as explained here whenever you have concerns about the article or would otherwise like to change it in some way. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:07, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
Image uploads to Commons
[edit]Hi again Sandaho. Please also check the messages I left for you at c:User talk:Sandaho because there are some issues with the files you uploaded to Commons that also need to be resolved. Commons and Wikipedia belong to the same family so to speak and there's lots of overlap, but they each have their own respective policies and guidelines, and Commons issues need to be resolved on Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:11, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. That makes sense. I will take care of that or remove the uploads. Sandaho (talk) 11:49, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
