Reason for reverting your edit in Scream 4 article

[edit]

Dear Sam,

Thank you for your contribution on Scream 4 (film) article. I'm sorry to say that your contribution must be reverted. Due to the following reasons:

1. According to WP:FILM, and WP:FILMPLOT, the plot section only needs to capture the most important events, and it should not exceed 700 words. Your edits made the plot section reach 858 words or so, and those excess must be cut. There are parts that are speculation.

2. It was not well written, contains too many misspellings, and was very confusing.

For example, your addtions here:

Gale, trying to solve the murders, enlists the help of two high school movie geeks, Charlie Walker, who has a crush on Kirby, and Robbie Mercer (who many people suspect is gay), who explain that the killer is using the rules of movie remakes to murder. Charlie concludes that the killer will likely strike at a Stabathon, the annual party being held that night.

The first sentence is 46-word-long. It runs on, contains four modifier clauses in it, not to mention that two of those are a modifier clause within a modifier clause. Readers won't be able to remember the first word the sentence says by the time they reach the end, and the point of the sentence will be lost. It also contains speculation on whether Robbie Mercer is a gay. Without a proper citation, and reference, a speculation must be removed. Please note that although Robbie admitted it later that he was gay, he could be lying in hope that the killer would spare him, so that is not a definite proof. The name of the party and how frequent it was held is not important either. It was just a party where the killer struck, and the readers won't have problems understanding the plot, even without knowing it was 'annual' or named 'Stabathon.' Same goes for whether Charlie had a crush on Kirby or not.

An example for your misspelling is He stabs her twwice in the stomach and leaves her for dead.

An example for your confusing sentence is Jill, Kirby, Charlie, and Robbie are at Kirby's house following the events at Stabathon when Trevor shows up claiming Jill invited him by text, which she denies.

From this ^ sentence, is is unclear whether Trevor appears at the house or at the Stabathon.

Or from this sentence:

Ghostface then appears and captures Charlie, tying him up and forcing Kirby to become the new Casey Becker to his Steve Orth.

Causual readers who have never seen Scream but are interested in what the movies are about might not remember Casey Becker or Steve Orth.

There are more mistakes in your additions. I've reverted it, but even if I hadn't, someone would've done it anyway. There are just too many mistakes. Hope you understand.

Wreck-It Ralph

[edit]

I appreciate your enthusiasm for this film, but unfortunately your edits are beginning to cause some problems. As WP:FILMPLOT clearly states, plot summaries should be no more than 700 words. Because of that, lots of details must be left out in order to focus on the main story. In a similar vein, specific details of the main plot are often left out for both space reasons and to not convey every major component of a film's story ... it's kinda like the "MacGyver rule", in a way (where the show's producers intentionally left out key components of whatever contraption the main character was making, especially if it was going to explode or otherwise be dangerous). I would suggest you read the section on film plots and, if you believe a given plot point is necessary, discuss it on the article talk page instead of edit warring. Thank you, and thanks for your contributions. --McDoobAU93 15:25, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm ZappaOMati. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mario, but you didn't provide a reliable source. I've removed it for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ZappaOMati 23:56, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw your recent edit at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012 TV series), which was reverted by another user. You may wish to exercise more care, as your last three edits have introduced questionable and disruptive formatting into articles. Examples: [1], [2], [3]. It may also be wise to brush up on Wikipedia's policy on original research, as the Turtles edit seems to be based on your own observation and interpretation, as does this edit. It may be more rewarding to submit information that conforms to policy so your hard work isn't reverted, and thus made in vain. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:57, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, the disruptive formatting may have been caused by a malicious browser extension, so you may wish to investigate. See: MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-codespill. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
