I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. The information on Philippa Tomson is incorrect. Her circumstances have now changed and now as a result of the incorrect information, it is having a detrimental impact on both her personal and professional life. I've been instructed to update the page with the correct information. How do I go about doing this? I look forward to your response. Regards, Samgram

  • Hello and welcome to Wikipedia,
If the correction is minor and non-trivial, you can correct it yourself. However, I think it's probably better if you suggest the changes on the associated Talk page, and let someone else make that change. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:28, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This help request has been answered. If you need more help, place a new {{help me}} request on this page followed by your questions, contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse.

Pip has asked me to make the changes on there because some of the information is incorrect though, Whilst I appreciate that anyone can contribute, at the moment it is having a negative impact. Where do I find the associated talk page? What i plan to put doesn't paint her in any different light. It simply removes the information causing her distress and replaces it with benign information that people can use to learn about her. I look forward to your response. Regards, Samgram

The article is at Philippa Tomson and its talk page at Talk:Philippa Tomson. Please add new material at the bottom of the talk page, and sign your contributions there by ending them with a group of four "tilde" characters ~~~~, which the system will turn into a signature with your username and the time and date. That helps keep things in order.
What you should add is: a note of anything that is inaccurate about the present article, with references to reliable sources that can confirm it, and a note of new information you think should be added, also with references. Two important points I should make clear are:
  • Wikipedia:Verifiability is an important principle: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." The article cannot be based on unsubstantiated assertions, positive or negative.
  • Wikipedia is anxious to get the article right, but reliably sourced information will not be removed just because the subject doesn't like it.
There is useful advice at WP:Biographies of living persons/Help.
