Katrina

[edit]

Hi. Regarding your alterations to the Criticism of government response to Hurricane Katrina article. I have commented on them here. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:49, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. I removed the content mostly because you said yourself in your edit that media was not reporting it and the letter was not available. So your own words make it clear that the content is not suitable for Wikipedia. Wikipedia only summarises what has already been said in reliable sources. If you have neither a copy of the letter, nor any reliable reporting of it, then I am afraid Wikipeida is not the place for discussing it. I am unfamiliar with "History Commons", but it appears to be a collaborative user generated website (like Wikipedia is). This makes it an unreliable source and an unsuitable cite.
Apart from this, these claims are no reason to remove other cited and sourced content that do come from reliable sources. If the facts are disputed then Wikipedia should reflect that. But both sides of the story must be cited adequately. Thanks.

REPLY: In fact, I DO have a copy of the letter. But, I'm not putting it out. Why? Because this very site also had a copy of that letter until several days ago........until I used it as proof on a forum to refute the claims that's being put out that Blanco didn't ask for help with evacuations, when she did. Now, THAT VERY letter is missing from this very site, deleted the very day that I commented on it and used it as proof. Then, I found another copy that hasn't been scrubbed.

I'm well aware that there is an effort to scrub the net of anything that doesn't fit into the present political agenda. Someone on this site has been complicit in that, possibly you?

If you do not use Commons, then you would not approve of anything to justify the propaganda being put out by Wiki.

BTW, Who are you? Do you have editorial rights to override another contributor? If not, then I will continue. Sam Donald (talk) 19:41, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Don[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:16, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
