Notability of Sunshine Apathy

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sunshine Apathy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sturm 22:47, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"i feel that if one (being you) are to question the relevance of a topic, such as a band, you must first consider music that you listen to and question the relevance of those bands as well."

Actually, we have a different standard for article inclusion. It is not based on the style of music, administrators personal taste in music, how many fans a band has or whether or not the article would be helpful. Wikipedia uses notability as our primary standard of inclusion. The article was deleted because it failed to claim any notability for the band. That is, there was no statement in the article that could be even remotely construed as a suggestion of notability. This made it eligible for the speedy deletion process. If you had bothered to read the link in the deletion reason, you would have found all of this information already, but I don't mind explaining it to you personally.

You are welcome to recreate this article, but if you cannot demonstrate the band's notability according to our policies in the article it will likely be deleted again. Natalie (talk) 14:35, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page Rat Rod Magazine has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be blatant advertising which only promotes something, and which is unlikely to be suitable for an article (or at best would need a fundamental rewrite). Wikipedia is not a medium for promotion of anything, whether a company, product, group, service, person, religious or political belief, or anything else. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Hu12 (talk) 15:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
