is declined. Much too soon to consider unblocking. --Yamla (talk) 11:27, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Yamla In my experience, The Blue Rider has been a constructive editor. This block is presumably related to an issue related to female given name articles. I have experienced disruptive behavior related to female given name articles from a user whose previous account was blocked indefinitely for abusively using multiple accounts. In my case, that user made bold edits removing sources from a good article and going against policy after learning there was no consensus for them and reverted my reverts. When I tried to discuss this user's edits and behavior, the user made changes to my talk page comments including changing the heading and as such reframing the discussion, and again reverted my reverts, making it very hard to do anything about it or find support. Maybe The Blue Rider did things that were against Wikipedia policy, but I think it is worth examining whether this user's actions were in response to someone else's disruptive behavior and therefore whether there are mitigating circumstances and whether another user should be reprimanded or blocked here. – Editør (talk) 12:46, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla: I'm the editor Editør is complaining about here. Please see User talk:Alalch E.#Removing sources and Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 198#Citations in anthroponymy lists. Various views were expressed in the VP discussion. About The Blue Rider, what I saw from them in the last period prior to their block, they were not being constructive. I had a dispute with The Blue Rider prior to their block, and the following is a link to a discussion related to that dispute: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RRArchive488#User:Alalch E. reported by User:The Blue Rider (Result: No violation). This appars to be what Editør is bringing up without naming it when they say I think it is worth examining whether this user's actions were in response to someone else's disruptive behavior and therefore whether there are mitigating circumstances and whether another user should be reprimanded or blocked here. Regarding my dispute with The Blue Rider, I stand behind my actions.
@Editør: It isn't nice that you didn't ping me when talking about me. I sense that you don't see me as a colleague. —Alalch E. 14:04, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to see me as a colleague, but don't talk behind my back like this. You can have a bad opinion of me, but you can't go around and spread bad word about me behind my back. —Alalch E. 14:10, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla You can draw your own conclusions from this very quick response on this talk page. But please be aware that the talk page discussion and the village pump discussion linked above are the ones where this user edited my talk page comments, including a heading in an attempt to reframe the discussion that followed. – Editør (talk) 14:15, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yamla doesn't need you to tell them that they can draw their own conclusions. —Alalch E. 14:16, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2025 Update from Women in Green

[edit]

Hello The Blue Rider:

2024 has wrapped up, and what a full year it was for WikiProject Women in Green! Over the past year, we hosted two edit-a-thons, one themed around women's history and another on women around the world. We also managed to achieve most of our 2024 annual goals, nominating 75 articles for GA, reviewing 64 GA nominations, nominating 8 articles for FAC, peer reviewing 3 articles and reviewing 10 FAC nominations. Excellent work, and thank you to everyone involved!

For 2025 we have a new set of goals for nominations and reviews. In particular, we would like to see more articles on our Hot 100 list being improved and nominated for GA this year. If you take a look at the list and see an article you are interested in contributing to, feel free to add it and yourself to our Hot 100 project discussion. You might even find someone interested in collaborating with you!

This year, as with every year, we hope you will join us in helping improve our coverage of women and women's works on this encyclopedia. Every contribution helps. We'll see you around!
