Hebrew script

[edit]

Hello, I'm afraid your edit summary for this edit, "I has to be called Hebrew script, not Ashuri script, since it was the script of the Hebrews", is a bit confused. The script used to write Hebrew has evolved over the centuries, and names are given to its form at various point. They're all Hebrew scripts, but the form being referred to here is known specifically as the Ashuri script. The Paleo-Hebrew script is known as just that, not "box Hebrew". A tag has been placed on Draft:Florida Hebrew University (FHU), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. {{unblock|your reason here}} I would like to appeal this because it does not promote anything, it just lists a university, which there are hundreds of. It is a non-profit organization that is a legitimate and respectable institution. The article does not promote a person or a business. Sacredlinguistics (talk) 09:24, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) I don't know what you're appealing against, the draft being deleted or your account being blocked?
Anyway, the draft was purely promotional, because it didn't cite a single independent source, only the university's own website. Wikipedia articles are meant to summarise what independent and reliable sources have published about a subject. This is not a platform for the subject to tell the world about itself; that is the very definition of promotion (see WP:YESPROMO), which is not allowed on Wikipedia.
