Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! –Ammarpad (talk) 14:36, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing

[edit]

Per wp:verifiability, significant content must wp:cite a wp:reliable source. Otherwise, the article won't have wp:Credibility. See wp:referencing for beginners and help:footnotes. wp:RefToolbar/2.0 is an easy way to add citations. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 20:39, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Sarkar (2018 film) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. Diff: [1] In this edit you added content that could be found verbatim [2]. That is unacceptable. The rest of the content is problematic because you're using snappy industry jargon as if you're writing a blog, not an encyclopedia article. We don't "go on floors" at Wikipedia, we "begin production" or "begin filming" or whatever it is you actually are trying to say. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:11, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

September 2018

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Imaikkaa Nodigal. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Diff: [3] Wikipedia is not interested in editors' personal views about the film's critical and audience response. Any analysis about any subject must be performed by a reliable published source, not by editors. Also, we are not here to promote films by puffing them up. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:58, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, you may be blocked from editing. Diff: [4] As previously noted, editors are not welcome to add their personal opinions to articles. If the film received generally positive response, you must attribute that opinion to a reliable published source with an established reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. If you add your opinion to an article again, I will interrupt your editing privileges. Note also that if you are paid to do marketing for the film, you must disclose that per WP:PAID. The second side of that coin is that we will not tolerate advertising at Wikipedia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:30, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and quotations must be presented as quotations, otherwise it will be considered a copyright violation. You need to brush up on your quotation handling ASAP. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:37, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Harmony (musical series) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.amazon.com/Harmony-with-A-R-Rahman/dp/B07GL2K14K. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sabharishh, Pontificalibus, instead of deleting this I've sent it to WP:CP for further investigation. It seems possible that there was some rescuable content in the earliest versions (and, strictly, criterion G12 only applies when there is none). DO NOT COPY

[edit]

DO NOT COPY is a basic concept in academia. The content you added in this edit at Chekka Chivantha Vaanam was copied from other sources, like here. This is unacceptable. Copying is intellectually dishonest and lazy, and constitutes intellectual theft. Plagiarism and copyright violations will not be tolerated at Wikipedia. Dev (2018 film) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Dev (2018 film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
