[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Solid-state battery. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. How are the changes I made any different than what was already input by others. It was showing that the company had made progress in the production of solid state batteries and what date they did it. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 04:34, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Solid-state battery, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. WhoAteMyButter (📨talk│📝contribs) 21:13, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
I thought Bloomberg news was considered a reliable source? SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 23:12, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Isn't it a press release from PR Newswire? Not something written by Bloomberg and it's staff? Solid difference there, no pun intended. Unbroken Chain (talk) 23:22, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- If I can't take the the Information from the company website or a PR from them, how is it acceptable for me to cite a reporter who wrote an article based on those PRs or Information from the company?
Why are all the citations for the other companies OK? Some lead to videos and news from asia. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 23:36, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- 9 leads to a paid subscription article SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 23:40, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- A paywall is vastly different then a site that exists purely to release whatever they are paid to release. Can you find a source that says something like this [[1]]? Both of those articles are written by 3rd parties. It basically is the same information from #9 but again from a source that is not connected to a pay for play website or company promotion. If you can find legitimate coverage showing it's notability we can look at including it. Unbroken Chain (talk) 23:47, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
Citation 36 is a Mercedes/Prologium press release Citation 35 is in Another language probably another press release. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 01:40, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Sorry 33 and 34 SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 01:42, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks for pointing those out one was a press release and the other was not a reference at all. I even found a copy on PRNewswire. What I did do though was find a separate source that could be used for that material and I updated it to [[2]]. There is key differences in the neutrality of it's presentation. This is possibly the most important part of our conversation right at this point though. We are here to build an encyclopedia with reputable sourcing and we try to maintain high standards in sourcing. People come here to advertise and promote sometimes and sometimes they manage to slip things in here without notice or review by a volunteer. You've correctly identified 2 problematic edits and dubious sourcing. Are you interesting in helping us remove the dross and improve the 'pedia or is your intent to promote a product? You have shown an ability and aptitude to help us and if you are so inclined we'd appreciate the help cleaning up and maintaining it :). This might help as well, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources. It can link you to the discussions on PRNewswire or such and it shows how the community came to those determinations on sourcing. Unbroken Chain (talk) 03:07, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
I just want the timeline to show that Alpine4's subsidiary is actively the only company in the world that is producing a solid state battery on a commercial scale. It has been independently verified by BICindiana. The results are only published on electjetpowercells.com. The site belongs to alpine4 though. On social media Twitter the BIC has praised the battery. All sources you don't accept. I am at a loss. None of those companies on the Wikipedia list are anywhere close to producing a solid state battery. Most of those articles are fluff pieces with little fact. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 03:54, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Citation 23 literally says prnnewswire in the link SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 04:15, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Citation 24 is written by a big investor in Quantumscape and even references that he is in a link in Citation 26 above the authors name where they site prn newswire as a source of the article and his articles link electrek.co SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 04:32, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I would urge taking those sources out completely until suitable ones are located AND the information used in article until we have reliable sourcing. Would you care to fix it or is your only intent to promote Alpine 4, you are empowered to fix those errors too. This article is in a sorry state no doubt and needs cleaning and pruning. I don't feel that it is my place to change other people's edits as apparently I'm not fully versed on Wikipedia rules. It seems as if my time would be better served writing/publishing an article on the web that could be cited some day by someone else. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 16:54, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough, good luck and I hope one day we will be able to source you as an expert on the subject. You can always change your mind, Wikipedia is a place where anyone can edit. We don't WP:OWN our changes and you really have to be willing to watch your preferred version change over time as people add and refine information so you aren't usurping anyone's place or edits. When I started I always appreciated it gave me an outlet to contribute in the absence of a formal degree. I appreciated the ability to access and help steward the information. Have a great rest of your day! Unbroken Chain (talk) 17:47, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 08:24, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
Alpine 4 Holdings Inc. moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Alpine 4 Holdings Inc., is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Jamiebuba (talk) 09:00, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
Could you please tell me which parts need better citations? I got all the information from an SEC 3rd party accountant verified public document. SOLIDSTATEBATTERIES (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
